The solution how to protect the environment during and after the construction.

Construction is not only focus on building up structure such as house, factory, road, and so on.
It is also refer to the structure buildup process, demolition process and also excavation
process. According to the statistic on 2010, it is approximate 20 million tons of waste was
send to the landfill. The waste is come from the activities of structure buildup, demolition and
soil excavation process.
Plant and wildlife is a very important element in ecosystem, they contribute an important role
in the environment. For example, plant makes soil stronger and air fresh by produce oxygen,
and some of the wildlife used to balance the ecosystem to avoid the excess amount of pests.
Before start the construction, the type of existing wildlife and plants should be known, the
function and the benefits of the wildlife and plants may help protect the environment. In this
project, they try the best to keep the useful plants and wildlife as much as possible in order to
protect the environment as much as they can.
In this project, an amount of trees were cut to free up the area. This activity may cause the
damage of environmental by causes the global warming. To reduce the foot prints on damage
of environment, the developer keep as much as the tree. This mean the trees were cut are
necessary. However, the trees which are not impeding the project were kept although the
trees are stay in the proposed area for the project. It is observed that there are a lot of trees not
removed from the area, this due to the plant not impeding to the project as well as the
construction. In the other words, the trees are contribute the strength of the soil as it to avoid
the mudslide
The concrete used in this project consist of pozzolonic materials, these materials are the ash
or the waste from industrial sector. The pozzolonic materials such palm oil fuel ash (POFA),
rice husk ash (RHA), and fly ash (FA) may obtain from industrial sector. This activity may
help to reduce the waste from industrial and avoid the happen of burning of the waste occur
which could lead to air pollution.
The pozzolonic materials may act as the partial cement replacer, the usage of cement may
reduce in this project. Cement will undergo hydration which produce high heat that causes
the global warm, the present of the pozzolonic material may reduce the heat release into
environmental during hardening of concrete.
During the construction, only the require machine will operate. These reduce the release of
carbon dioxide into environment which causes the air pollution. Also, this will reduce the
sound pollution as lesser of the machine operate at the same time. The construction time is
strictly not allowed to carry out on Sunday and public holidays, the reason is the sound
produce during construction will disturb the residents around the proposed site. This is one of
the sound pollution.
The clean of the machines were ensure and the needed machines will place on the site and not
allow to go out from site if no permission. The reason is the pest weed may spread on the site
during transportation. Phytophthora cinnamon is a root rot disease which cause by fungus on
weed, leaves or root, this disease happens in high rainfall area. The fungus will damage the
root of the native plant in order to stop them to taken up the water and nutrient. This happen
will bring harmful to environment.
The waste such as wood, nail and others from construction will be distinguished based on the
type of waste and place on a safe area. These activities fulfil the sustainability of construction.
Sustainability of construction is about the most effective method to manage the resources and
try to reusing the waste as much as possible in order to reduce the carbon footprint to avoid
the impact on environmental.
In this project, risk management also done, even the risk on construction site is not able to
determine accurately, but some of precaution was taken during the process of this project.
This project strictly not allows burning of waste especially wood. This activity called
housekeeping. The waste will be gathering until a certain amount, and then the waste will be
sales for factory to re-production. This method helps to save the environment and may earn
some petty cash.
Also, some of the activities were done to remind the workers to take care of the clean of the
site. In this project, housekeeping meeting were carry out every weeks to remind the works to
keep the site clean by through the rubbish, food and containers into the provided dustbin on
the site.
After the construction, all the waste should to send to landfill. The waste should not place on
the site after the project was done. The reason is the waste may undergo deterioration process
that may damage to the soil. The replant also carry around the area of the proposed site, it
may contribute the aesthetic function and also to produce more oxygen and fresh air at the
proposed site. Thus, it is obvious that there are a lot of plant around the area of the proposed
site.
As summarize of information above, this project is undergo environmental assessment,
hazard identification and risk assessment to ensure the project minimize the impact on
environment.
