Generic Role Perception Questionnaire

The purpose of this questionnaire is to obtain your views of the role of another profession. Please
complete the front sheet which asks three questions about your background and one about your views of
interprofessional education. Page two contains twenty two items that aim to discover your views of the
role of another profession. Remember there are no right or wrong answers only your own opinion.

What I would like you to do is to read each item of the questionnaire and then give your current
considered opinion of the role of a typical professional in your targeted profession (Please ask the
researcher if you do not know whom this is).

Example of how to complete this section.

Q1. to what extent does the targeted professions role require them to collaborate with others. Please put a
ring around the point on the scale that represents your view. If your view tends towards the left hand
description you should ring a lower value for example 2, 3 or 4. If it tends towards the right hand
description you should ring a higher value for example 7, 8 or 9.

Remember there is no right or wrong answer only your considered view. All answers will be treated in the
strictest confidence and no individual will be identified in the research. Your name will only be used by
the researcher for coding of data.
