Theme: Ascending Numbers (Least to Greatest)

Skill: Place numbers in ascending order using 1 to 2 digits.

Important:
There are two ways you can place numbers in order.
1. Ascending Order
2. Descending Order
Today, we are going to learn about placing numbers in Ascending Order.
Numbers in Ascending Order Definition:
Ascending means, rising, growing, moving upward, or higher. Ascending number starts with
the smallest number, followed by bigger and larger numbers, such that the last number in
order is the biggest one.
Examples: 9, 31, 12, 17, 35, 28, and 21
If you look at the set of numbers above, you will find two types of numbers: single digit
numbers and double-digit numbers. In order to place numbers in ascending order, we have
to start with the smallest number, first.
Single digit numbers are smaller than double-digit numbers.
The easiest way of finding the smallest number is to FIRST look for all numbers which are
smaller than 10 from the set of numbers. Next, step is to look for all the numbers which
are smaller than 20 and bigger than 10 from the set of numbers.
Follow the previous steps pattern: smaller than 30 and bigger than 20, smaller than 40 and
bigger than 30, smaller than 50 and bigger than 40
The numbers in ascending order are 9, 12, 17, 21, 28, 31, and 35
