Green House:

Green houses are climate controlled. Green Houses have a variety of applications,
the majority being, off-season growing of vegetables, floriculture, planting
material acclimatization, fruit crop growing for export market and plant breeding
and varietals improvement.
Green Houses are built of a G.I. structure wherein crops are grown under a
favorable artificially controlled environment and other conditions viz. temperature,
humidity, light intensity, photo period, ventilation, soil media, disease control,
irrigation, Fertigation and other agronomical practices throughout the season
irrespective of the natural conditions outside.
In conventional Agronomical practices, the crops are being grown / cultivated in
the open field under natural conditions where the crops are more susceptible to
sudden changes in climate i.e. temperature, humidity, light intensity, photo period
and other conditions due to which the quality, yield of a particular crop can get
affected and may be decreased.
Green Houses are available in different sizes and constructed as per customer
requirement. The sizes vary from as small as 1000 Sq. M to 10,000 Sq M and
more.
The degree of sophistication also varies from a simple Polyhouse with polythene
sheet covering to highly sophisticated, fully automated systems with Poly
carbonate sheet roofing (double walled), PAR lightings, boom irrigation, rolling
benches and full scale computerized (fully automated) systems.
Poly house:
Poly houses are basically naturally ventilated climate controlled. Poly houses have
a variety of applications, the majority being, growing of vegetables, floriculture,
and planting material acclimatization, fruit crop growing for export market.
Poly houses are built of a Pre-galvanized channel cum tubular structure/ Tubular
Structure wherein crops are grown under a favorable controlled environment and
other conditions viz. temperature, humidity, light intensity, ventilation, soil media,
disease control, irrigation, Fertigation and other agronomical practices throughout
the season irrespective of the natural conditions outside.

Poly house Technology is suitable for:-
Production of vegetable crops
Colored Capsicum
THE PRODUCT AND MARKET (About Capsicum):
The proposed sweet capsicum varieties viz. red, yellow and black capsicums of
most suitable strains would be grown. There is high demand in UAE, USA, UK,
Korea and Japan.
The data on present installed capacity and capacity in pipelines are not available,
as this product is absolutely new to entrepreneurs.
The demand seems to be extremely high domestically and in the International
market. However, exact statistics are difficult to procure from various sources,
study and export sources at present.
The demand - supply gap is definitely adequate to install similar 20 to 25 units
under green house technology.
The price per kg. of Red Capsicum and Yellow Capsicum ranges from USD $ 5.00
to 5.50 and Black Capsicum fetches maximum price of USD $ 7.50 to 8.00 in off-
season. Green Capsicum also fetches USD $ 4.00 to 4.50 per kg. In European
market. The average price per kg. USD $ 5.00 has been considered for export
market. The average yield / acre is computed @ 62.00 MTA (3 Crops) in Green
House.
The Government of India's policy for the product and Agro-based Industries are
liberal with respect to import of machinery, plants, seeds, cash incentive, draw
back replenishment, subsidy in freight etc.
Tomato
Production of flowers
Rose
Carnation
Gerbera
Orchids
Anthurium
Nursery for plants of all types of vegetables & Flowers
Secondary hardening nursery of Tissue cultured plant
Growth / Production of rare plants, orchids / herbs, medicinal plants.

Preparations for Polyhouse:
Selection of Site:
The proposed location to establish the unit is at a location near a area where all
infrastructure facilities like power, water, drainage, transport-refrigerated vans,
cooling chain, labour etc. are available.
Selection of Media:
Red soil should be selected as growing media for poly house as it is good NPK and
other micronutrient content and well drained soil.
The soil selection should make by testing soil before for NPK, Soil PH and for
other micronutrient content.
Selection Of plants:
Good, potential and market oriented export quality variety should be selected for
growing in poly House.
Selection drip Irrigation:
Good company drip irrigation system should be selected for irrigating polyhouse.

PROCESS:
The soil of the site is removed up to 18", mixed with sieved F.Y.M. is added. The
soil surface is sterilized, refilled with mixture, drains are prepared, and erection of
green house structure with LD Polythene sheet is erected. Seedlings are
transplanted; regular drip irrigation, fogging or misting and maintaining humidity
etc. are attended.
The flow sheet of site and field operations is -
