Mr. Indar Maharaj Chairman of Board WATER AND SEWERAGE AUTHORITY Farm Road, ST. JOSEPH
Sir,
RE: WAIVER OF PROCESS FOR THE GRANTING OF PLUMBING LICENSE
On June 17, 2014, I presented myself to the Water and Sewerage Authoritys Workforce Assessment Centre to begin the process to become a Licensed Sanitary Constructor (Plumber).
In order to be considered for a Plumbers License, applicants must submit amongst other things a rsum and are then subjected to a two (2) step process which includes: 1. Writing for Level 2 Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) competence 2. Attending a six (6) week Skills Training program
It is rather awkward to be subjected to this process, after having been employed with the Authority for a period of in excess of thirty two (32) years, mostly in the New Services Department which is responsible for Plumbing Quality Control (Plumbing Inspectorate), while there my duties included: checking all classifications of Plumbing Designs and recommending for Approvals in accordance with the National Plumbing Code of Trinidad and Tobago inspecting works carried out by Licensed Plumbers and Civil Engineers and recommending certification upon completion of said works
I was appointed to hold such a position within the Authority, since I am the holder of a Plumbing Craftsmen Diploma (winner of the Presidents Medal in Craft Studies - 1984) through the National Examinational Council (NEC) for Technical and Vocational Education, which represents the highest level of certification in Plumbing Studies in Trinidad and Tobago. To attain this certification, I had to write and pass the following subjects: Mathematics Technical English Technology Technical Drawing Science (Plumbing)

YOUR PLUMBING PROFESSIONAL
Sir, I am asking that you use your good office to give consideration in waiving step 2 of your licensing process, in an effort to expedite my application. It should also be noted that all other Plumbing Inspectors at the time of my appointment had been granted Licenses upon their separation from the Authority.
I have attached a copy of my Professional Profile (rsum) for your perusal and consideration.
Thanking You
