Lords Supper Essay 2

Mankind cannot be saved by any workings of their flesh or by
what is worldly and or by any other attempts and efforts to reach out
to God. Neither are we saved by any religious organization nor by any
other man-made belief. It is exclusively on a persons faith and of
merits and by trusting in the gospel that we are saved.

The message of the cross is essential core of all gospel
teachings. Apostle Paul believed when he delivered and put much
emphasis on the message of the cross of Christ. The directive of the
message was foundational and very important. Some Corinthians
were denying Jesus rise from the dead. 1 Corinthians 15:19 in so
many words "Christ", who does not give us hope for the world to
come, is a "Christ" who makes us miserable. We look for more than
such a "Christ" is able to give to us. Paul had expressed that he had
no desire to know anything surrounding the Corinthians with
exception of Jesus Christ and Him being crucified. I resolved to
know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him Crucified(1
Corinthians 2:2, Womens Devotional Bible). He made a distinction

between the natural and the physical. Christ resurrection is
foundational. The resurrection of Christ is the height in ones
achieving salvation. It is the central thesis in the biblical revelation of
the New Testament so; whoever rejects or denies the doctrine will not
have eternal life. To oppose it, or deny it gives empty faith of all its
meanings and value. The resurrection teaches everyone about death
and shows how and why mankinds salvation balances upon the edge
of truth of Christs resurrection.
The truth he was relaying was unless mankind fails to know
Jesus Crucified, they would not truly understand or know Him in the
power of the resurrection. In times before Christ mankind sinned
against God, it wasnt enough to merely say to God Im sorry, for the
law, therefore it required a sacrifice to make atonement for the sin.
This is why the message of the cross is at the heart of all- embraced
gospel teachings, preachings and sermons. One part of the message
has to do with the sacrifice of an innocent Lamb. The lamb is
innocent, Jesus was the Lamb of God and He was slain for mankinds
sins. The results of our sins caused Jesus death. But, through his
death was the provision to the sins and thus they were taken away
saving mankind. The cross signifies that we by faith can call upon

Him in His name Jesus, It destroys sin and brings unity with the
Father and the Holy Spirit, The cross is to reach those that are lost,
forgive those that sin and a reminder that man was born into sin and
needed a Savior to atone for the sins. Because of mankinds sinning,
constant rebellion and sinful nature all of mankinds burdens was
place on Jesus, so all that is good under Him and by His very own
perfect nature and life, could be ours. The Gospel provides what
mankind can be blessed with, what is deserving to Jesus, because He
gave the gift of life to mankind through the cross by the giving of His
own blood (His life). So that man man can be freed from
rebelliousness, and the consequences of rebellion, because Jesus took
it for him.
Pauls meaning of the power of the Cross defines that the Cross and
meaning to our lives pertains to embracing the modification of life that
God has for us in terms of mans nature and essence. We are to become like
Christ, it is not by concentrating to put the unruly nature through a course
of education, but instead by nourishing the brand-new life while reckoning
that old nature dead. Thus consider yourselves also to be dead to sin,
but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:11, Womens
Devotional Bible). And when this is done it gives the old nature to die sin

will be deprived. Man will seek God, more consciously will be in pursuit of
the Spirit of God, in order to become one with God. Eventually the time
will come when the peace of God will ascend and rule in our lives, and
mankind will be ready for all of His good works.
We need to be reminded that the cross is the way to atonement it is still the
key to truly knowing God. It will not come to man any other way And God
will continually bless and appreciates those who come to know Him in this
way.
To Pauls understanding the Lords supper commemorates the death
of our Savior Jesus Christ. To give example the Passover was in general
a remembrance celebration that was a calling to mind. 1 Corinthians
11, Paul used the word remembrance, stating when people of God
participate in the Lords supper not only do they have the belief in
their minds of the past event but they possess a broader sense and
understanding of the event and what its power represented. Jesus
himself originated the ideology. The tradition of the Lords supper helps to
understand His presence. It also was an understanding by Paul that the
Lords Supper is a proclamation and symbolic For whenever you eat
this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's
death until he comes (1 Corinthians 11:26 Womens
Devotional Bible). Therefore, the Lords Supper is constructed to

be forever reminder to Christians to be thankful of God and His
greatest accomplishment, which was, the deliverance from sin thru
the persecution and death of His Son Jesus Christ. Therefore as we
give thanks to God for His indefinite blessings, we are to remember to
thank Him most of all for His sending His only begotten Son Jesus
Christ to save mankind from certain death.
The last supper, Jesus gives remembrance of Himself through
His blood and His body ransomed to pay for mankinds sin. The
resurrection of our Lord and Savior is the basis for mankinds hope
of everlasting life. Without Christ's resurrection or rise from the
dead, there would not be eternal life for us. Christ's resurrection,
brought hope to mankind, the joyful hope of eternal salvation. The
greatness that Christ brings into our lives is a magnificence, which
transforms our lives today, a glory, which matures in us as we
travel with the Lord, and an immorality, which will be seen in all its
fullness at our triumphant resurrection.
