Q7: Create a graph of power (HP) vs. angular velocity (RPM) according to this data.
Ans:

Q8: Discuss the plots you just created. What is the relationship between torque, power
and angular velocity?
Ans: From above two graphs it can be seen that as the RPM increases the value of
torque and power decreases. This means that both torque and power are inversely
proportional to the angular velocity of the motor.

Q10: Include sample calculations, showing how you calculated the entire first non-zero
row of Table 3. Sample calculations may be neatly hand-written. When calculating
power, use the average RPM between the two data points.
Ans:

Q11: Create a graph of torque (inlb) vs. average angular velocity (RPM) showing data
generated by both dynamometers.

Q12: Create a graph of power (HP) vs. average angular velocity (RPM) showing data
generated from both dynamometers.

Power vs. RPM

Eddy-current dyno
Inertial Dyno
Q13: What was the maximum torque and horsepower produced by the air motor, and at
what speeds did these values occur? Compare and contrast the data generated by the
two types of dynamometers. Which dynamometer was more useful at low speeds, and
which one was more useful at high speeds?

Ans: The maximum torque was 98.92 in-lb. and it was generated at 168.8 RPM. The
maximum power was 0.2647 hp. And it was also generated at 168.8 RPM. The data
produced by the inertial dynamometer was over a wide range of speeds. Moreover,
these graphs showed a steep increase in the torque and power with increase in RPM
initially. As the RPM was increased further the graph conformed to the shape similar to
the one produced by the eddy-current dynamometer. The inertial dynamometer gave
useful reading at lower RPM, whereas the eddy-current dynamometer gave usable
readings in the high RPM range.
