Abhi was engaged to remediate the troubled Mascot data centre server
relocation project& More than thirt servers including bac1 up switches were
hosted on ACA building which was due !or re!urbishment& The challenge was to
relocate them to the new data centre on a new technical landscape# as ACA was
to be handed over to the builders !or renovation
The initial tas1 was to liaise with third part vendor Telstra# to de*ne the
re.uirements including bac1up o! servers# cabling# applications# switch
compatibilit# *bre speci*cations and other necessar arte!acts !or server
hosting& Abhi spearheaded the discussion in conjunction with Aantas and
ensured !uture landscape is scoped out and well de*ned !or the move& 'econdl#
Abhi liaised with business sta1e holders at Aantas and gained approval !rom

servers&
The major limitation and challenge was to maintain a correlation between
applications running on the servers and the new networ1 in!rastructure at the
data centre& Challenges were encountered on sstem integration and
application/server aHnit due to the poor .ualit o! application code& The issues
were remediated b !acilitating discussion across wider group o! team and
vendors& The outcome was project was success!ull implemented within scope#
cost and time constraints leading to the satis!action o! the client&

discussions with business to understand the polic and !urther liaised with
technical developers to design and con*gure the polic around technical
protocols& The total si,e o! the team was twent including vendors and the
budget o! the project was around F5 million dollars&

Abhi scoped out the technical in!rastructural re.uirements in consultation with
vendors and liaised with business to !urther categorise the domains to be
migrated across to the cloud& The project was implemented in three phases& Girst
phase comprised o! domains with heav traHc to be migrated across !rom
