MOLITOR

tl illlHlllM lilliiU tt -M
For Parisians, the name evokes
a bygone era. One where the
Molitor iwimmmg pool, built
in the 19208, welcomed swimmers
in indoor and outdoor pools.
Neglected, this Art Deco building,
which tsaw the first bikini in 1946
became a ship in ruins, floating
bctween Roland-Garros and Pare
des Princes. On May 19, it was
relaunched, and can now be
summed up in just three words:
pool, art, life. The hotel lias
124 rooms and suites (some with
terraces), with decor by Jean-
philippe Nuel , who bas rreated a
lovely five-star cocoon flying the
MGallery Jlag. And t wo poolsa
3H-meter one for winter and an
open-air, heated 48-nieter
summer onehave been built on
the model of the carlier cnes, are
joiried by gyms, and a spa by
Clarins. But as well, at the pool's
edge is a beach with a bar and
resaurant devised by Yannick
Allno in collaboration with some
of the Meilleurs Ouvriers de
France. Not to mention the
exhibitions by contemporary
artists, as open to visitors
there for the day as to the
1,000 members of Club Molitor.
Beside the Molitor's pool, in your
room, or on the roof terrace with
its panorama view of the capital,
on offer is an uber-hip Parisian
lifestyle.

9HOTEL MONTPARNASSE
Nestled into a corner of the I4th arrondissement. Rue Raymond-Losserand has kept the arty spirit inherited from
the time wheri the iieighborhood was frequeiited by Modigliani, Picasso, and Chagall. A little removed from bobo
Montparnasse, it offers a Paris of dcliciously provincial charm. This is whcre, just a fcw months ago, gHotel Montparnasse
opened. A boutique design hotelbut \vithout going over the top about itthere are 40 rooms in a range of refreshing

Wc love the pastel colors, Iiie warin fabrice, the lighting

Boulevard Beaumarchais, close to the Bastille and the
Place des Vosges, in belween the chic of the Maris and
