Revival Boo&s 'SWRB( and in!luded is a short review of several other sites who advertise it on their
we sites.
)irst " want to state that " %ur!hased the Puritan Hard Drive a!& in *ar!h of +,,-. .his is when it was
ein# offered as a /, CD !olle!tion. " set u% a %ayment %lan and e#an to %ay on this until *ar!h +,0,.
As " %aid on this !olle!tion " would re!eive wee&ly u%dates e$%lainin# to me aout all the new
additions to this set. 1n!e " %aid this !olle!tion off2 " quit re!eivin# any u%dates2 des%ite my !onstant
attem%t to #et my name %ut a!& on the list for the wee&ly u%dates. .his sent u% red fla#s and " e#an
to worry that " had een s!ammed3 ut a wee& after SWRB e#an shi%%in# the hard drive " !onta!ted
John Hendry$ at *oner#ism.!om and he informed me that they had e#un shi%%in#. " also !onta!ted
Sermonaudio.!om and they !onta!ted SWRB and let them &now that " had inquired aout the drive
'sin!e " had re!eived no u%dates( and so my name was added to the ne$t shi%%in# list and " re!eived it a
few days later.'1!toer 0/(.
*y %lans for this drive was to download it into my main des&to%. " have a Windows 4P des&to% with
+56 Ram and only -, 7i#s of hard drive s%a!e. " !ertainly was not #oin# to use this e!ause of the
limited memory and not enou#h s%a!e. " have a Windows 8ista Servi!e Pa!& + la%to% with 9 7i#s of
memory and 06, 7i#s of hard drive s%a!e. A#ain " had %lenty of memory2 ut as you !an see2 not
enou#h hard drive s%a!e. .he !om%uter " was #oin# to use their hard drive on2 y downloadin# it into
the !om%uter2 was my Window 8ista Servi!e Pa!& 0 with 0 7i# of memory and 9+, 7i#s of hard drive
s%a!e.
.he %rolem " had was that the %ro#ram they develo%ed to sear!h their material would run on the la%
to% and the old Windows 4P2 ut on the Windows 8ista Servi!e Pa!& 02 it would not run. "t &e%t tellin#
me that the %ro#ram was already o%en or dama#ed. So " !onta!ted SWRB and for one day #ot some
assistan!e from Wayne :lias the software en#ineer. "mmediately red fla#s went u% e!ause " thou#ht
that it was %e!uliar that the main en#ineer would e assistin# me. *ost !om%anies2 !or%orations2
usinesses2 who %ut out a lar#e quantity of %rodu!ts2 do not have the main software en#ineer !onta!t
you when somethin# is wron#. Anyway2 " was told that " must " have tried to o%en the wron# file sin!e
it did not wor&. .he hard drive !ame with instru!tions that even a !hild !ould follow and " informed
him of su!h and e$%lained what " o%ened. He then %ro!eeded to tell me that my !om%uter was readin#
his %ro#ram wron# y !lassifyin# it as a word %erfe!t file instead of a )ilm *a&er Pro Run .ime )ile.
" re!eived ei#ht emails the same day with Wayne tryin# to assist me. After this " !ould #et no answer. "
!onta!ted Sermonaudio.!om e!ause they advertise for them2 ut unfortunately they would not res%ond
at all. " also !onta!ted John Hendry$ at *oner#ism.!om e!ause they also advertise for them and " was
%lainly told y John Hendry$ that it was not his %rolem. He stated that he only advertises for them and
has nothin# to do with the software en#ineerin# and he !ould not fi#ure out what " wanted him to do.
"t is very unfortunate that men or sites who !laim to e Christian have not the same %rofessional
!ourtesy as a worldly usiness of whi!h one mi#ht deal with. "t is !ommon %ra!ti!e2 y all advertisers
of any %rodu!t2 to !onta!t the !om%any of whi!h they advertise for2 if a !onsumer has a %rolem2 ut
!an;t #et anythin# done y the manufa!turer of the %rodu!t. .hose who advertise for them do not want a
ad ra% or ad name from a defe!tive %rodu!t. However2 when one deals with individuals within the
Christian world2 many of them have not the same %rofessional !ourtesy.
So my %rolem is still not fi$ed and here it is De!emer +-3 over two months after re!eivin# the
Puritan Hard drive.
*y ne$t !ritique of this drive is the fa!t that for months SWRB advertised that their instru!tional
videos were #oin# to e in!luded in the hard drive itself. But when the final %rodu!t !ame out2 they
instead have them on line. Be!ause of this one fa!t2 this %rodu!t would e more diffi!ult to use or to
fi#ure out y a missionary2 who has no "nternet !onne!tion in a forei#n land. What " am sayin# is that
this %rodu!t was not desi#ned for the missionary who is in a %la!e that has no "nternet !onne!tion. .he
instru!tional videos should have een in!luded with the hard drive.
Se!ondly this %rodu!t !laims to in!lude Reformed Ba%tist %rodu!ts. "t is true that there are a few oo&s
or *%9;s y Reformed Ba%tist on this hard drive2 ut there is nothin# that is %arti!ularly Ba%tist on this
hard drive. )or instan!e2 " have yet to find the 06-/ London Ba%tist Confession. " have found no *%9;s
that ar#ue from a Ba%tist %osition. " have listened to the *%9;s that ar#ue for infant a%tism. .hese
in!lude men su!h as Brian S!hwertly2 7re# Pri!e2 and *atthew *!*ahon. .heir ar#uments were wea&
and ridi!ulous to say the least2 es%e!ially *atthew *!*ahon;s a!!usations a#ainst Ba%tist as ein#
dis%ensationalist e!ause we do not hold to infant a%tism. " use to hold to S!ofield;s dis%ensational
theolo#y and what *atthew *!*ahon des!ries as ein# dis%ensationalism is far from it. " will
!ommend Brian S!hwertly for a!!urately statin# that Reformed Ba%tist !ame off the Puritan movement
and not the Anaa%tist movement.
.his mu!h stated2 " thin& it to e false advertisin# to state that this hard drive !ontains Reformed
Ba%tist materials. After %ur!hasin# this drive " had tal&ed to some %eo%le on line and found out that
Re# Barrow and his un!h were se!tarians. "n other words they are one sided in their views2 so mu!h
so that they in!lude no other views into their lirary.
" had2 several years a#o2 %ur!hased a lirary !alled <.he Ama=in# Christian Lirary> and it !ontained
mu!h of the material that is on the Puritan Hard Drive. Also it !ontained an entire folder on Ba%tist
materials. .his is a alan!ed view of the Puritan movement. .herefore SWRB ou#ht to !han#e the
name of the drive from the <Puritan Hard Drive> to the <Presyterian Hard Drive> and then it will
!orre!tly des!rie the materials therein.
" want everyone to &now that " hi#hly re!ommend the <Ama=in# Christian Lirary> and thin& that the
<Puritan Hard Drive> y SWRB is really a waste of money. " was told y John Hendry$ that if "
thou#ht that this drive was not missionary friendly2 then why not send it a!&. " answered y sayin#2
<Are you &iddin#? " didn;t thin& " would see this drive to e#in with. "f " send it a!&2 " may never see
the money or the drive2 seein# that they do not !are to ma&e sure it wor&s for their !ustomers.>
)inally " want to say that " tried to !he!& for u%dates for my Puritan Hard Drive y o%enin# their
%ro#ram file on my la%to% and !li!&in# the lin& that states ;Software @%dates; and the %ro#ram too& me
to a we %a#e of SWRB;s that stated that the %a#e had een removed2 name !han#ed2 et!... .hey had a
lin& at the to% of that %a#e that stated <PHD AB Software @%dates>. "n order to !he!& for u%dates " had
to !li!& that lin&. " have never %ur!hased any software2 that has an u%date lin& inside the software2 that
too& me to a %a#e that was of no use. "t seems to me that someone does not &now what they are doin#.
" will !lose this !ritique for now. " ho%e and %ray that you have not e$%erien!ed the same !om%li!ations
that " have with this %rodu!t. "f you have2 then " feel for you e!ause " &now who you have to deal with
to !lear the !om%li!ations u%.
'" want to state that " &now the diffi!ulties of tryin# to find out information on the net e!ause " have
dealt with slow dialBu% for years. How mu!h more diffi!ult would it e for the missionary with no
"nternet?(
