April 2008 4/8 - Final reports submitted to CFA Houston/CFA DFW for evaluation by graders 4/14 - Graders select top two team reports. The two finalist teams then announced 4/19 - Final oral presentation by 2 finalist teams occurs at TIPS (location Texas A&M) Judges panel will be made up of key investment leaders in Texas.
April/May 2008 North American Regional and Global Investment Research Challenge April 30 5:30 8:30pm, Reuters America in Times Square NYC - No. Amer. Regional IRC. Teams competing: Atlantic Canada, Louisville, New England, Pittsburgh, Texas and Virginia Teams prepare 10 min. power point presentation then will have 10 minutes of Q&A with judges Winners chosen based on presentation scores only. May 1 5:30 8:30pm, Reuters America in Times Square NYC, Global IRC. Teams competing: 2 top finalists from North. American Regional IRC on April 30 th + one team from Asia-Pacific, European and New York Regional Challenges.
Awards:
IRC Texas will award each of the members of the 2 finalist teams (the teams selected to compete at TIPS) with a scholarship that pays for the candidates next levels exam registration fee in the CFA program.
CFA Institute will provide the final winning team of IRC Texas with airfare and accommodations in New York City to compete in the Regional and, if one of the top contenders, the Global Finals.
Reuters America has joined as a sponsor of The Challenges and will provide each team with free access to their databases, news information for their research.
Awards at the Regional and Global Challenges will be provided by the CFA Institute.
