1) Multimedia project you are to create a multimedia presentation such as a PowerPoint, DVD, webpage etc on a topic selected from the given list of topics below. Alternatively you may propose a topic of your own choice with Ms Geddes. This project is to be a detailed description of a particular musical culture, through which you must show an understanding of the concepts of music using some representative pieces of music from your chosen musical culture. The number of pieces needed for the analysis will be determined by the chosen musical culture in collaboration with the teacher. The project must include aural examples (recordings). 2) Reference list a music project must have a reference list that includes a discography (recordings of the words you are discussing), a bibliography, and also a list of websites that you consulted. Details on how to do this can be found in the Library.
Guidelines: Choose your topic by the third week of the semester. Consult your teacher extensively early on to establish your topics boundaries. Find examples of your music early and start taking notes about them via the concepts of music Research any background information for the musical culture Create your reference list right from the day you start
Criteria for Assessment: Understanding of the topic; understanding of musical vocabulary; analysis skills; clarity of presentation; well-prepared examples; evidence of research; accuracy of language use;
