Preliminary Datasheet

RFU Overview
FibeAir Radio Frequency Units (RFUs) were designed with sturdiness, power,
simplicity, and compatibility in mind. These advanced systems provide highpower transmission for short and long distances and can be assembled and
installed quickly and easily.

3.1

RFU-C
FibeAir RFU-C is a fully software configurable, state-of-the-art RFU that
supports a broad range of interfaces and capacities from 10 Mbps up to 500
Mbps. RFU-C operates in the frequency range of 6-42 GHz.
RFU-C supports low to high capacities for traditional voice and Ethernet
services, as well as PDH/SDH/SONET or hybrid Ethernet and TDM interfaces.
Traffic capacity throughput and spectral efficiency are optimized with the
desired channel bandwidth. For maximum user choice flexibility, channel
bandwidths can be selected together with a range of modulations from QPSK
to 1024 QAM.
With RFU-C, traffic capacity throughput and spectral efficiency are optimized
with the desired channel bandwidth. For maximum user choice flexibility,
channel bandwidths can be selected together with a range of modulations
from QPSK to 1024 QAM over 3.5-56 MHz channel bandwidth.
When RFU-C operates in co-channel dual polarization (CCDP) mode using
XPIC, two carrier signals can be transmitted over a single channel, using
vertical and horizontal polarization. This enables double capacity in the same
spectrum bandwidth.

3.2

RFU-A
RFU-A is a high transmit power RFU designed for compact long-haul
applications. RFU-A offers a low scale trunk solution with up to four radio
carriers and operates in the frequency range of 5.8 (unlicensed), 6, 7, 8, and 11
GHz (licensed).
RFU-A supports multiple carriers, capacities, frequency bands, modulation
schemes, and configurations for various network requirements.
Among other features, the traffic capacity throughput and spectral efficiency
of RFU-A are optimized with the desired channel bandwidth. For maximum
user choice flexibility, channel bandwidths can be selected together with a
range of modulations of from QPSK to 256 QAM.
RFU-A capacities can be upgraded from 10 Mbps up to more than 2 Gbps, and
from one carrier up to four carriers connected to one antenna.
Each radio carrier can carry traffic over 10MHz up to 40 MHz bandwidth,
depending on regulatory restrictions for bandwidth and frequency.
With the smallest footprint in the market, RFU-A is designed to enable high
quality wireless communication in the most cost-effective way, including an
ultra-high power transmitter that can reach longer distances using smaller
antennas.

Environmental Specifications for IDU

The operating temperature range for IP-20N, including all cards that are
installed in the chassis, is divided into the following sub-ranges.

16.2

55C (131F) to 65C (149F) At this range, the IP-20N supports power
dissipation of up to 200W. This means the overall card type combination
should not exceed 200W.
-5CC (32F) to 55C (131F) At this range, the IP-20N supports full
system operation and full power dissipation with the maximum supported
population of the slots in the chassis.
Operating Humidity: 5%RH to 95%RH (IEC529 IP20)
