Andrew Dwight Kirby was taken into custody after police received a community tip on his whereabouts.
Kirby was taken into custody without incident at the Sheetz gas station located at 5905 Finch Farm Road, Trinity, at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, September 8 th .
Warrants for conspiracy to commit armed robbery, armed robbery, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and resist, delay and obstruct a public officer were served on Kirby. Kirby received a $125,000 secured bond and placed in the Davidson County Jail. Court date is set for 09/24/2014 in Thomasville.
The resist, delay, and obstruct a public officer charge resulted from an August 16, 2014, traffic stop on East Guilford Street near Cates Avenue where Kirby ran from the vehicle and escaped arrest.
Thomasville detectives have charged three people in connection with the July 30 th armed robbery that occurred at Pots O Gold Sweepstakes after receiving a tip from the community.
On August 13, 2014, Amanda Marie Helton, 23, of 509 White Street, Thomasville, was taken into custody and charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery, armed robbery, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Helton was placed in the Davidson County Jail under a $75,000 secured bond.
On August 14, 2014, Dillon Scott Baker, 16, of 203 Polk Street, Thomasville, was taken into custody and charged with armed robbery. Baker was placed in the Davidson County Jail under a $20,000 secured bond.
Police are actively looking for Andrew Dwight Kirby who is 24 years-of-age. Kirby is wanted for conspiracy to commit armed robbery, armed robbery, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Thomasville police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at Pots O Gold Sweepstakes late Wednesday night.
At 11:20 p.m., officers responded to Pots O Gold in reference to a robbery. An employee told police a white male and a white female entered the establishment displaying a firearm and demanded money.
The white male suspect was described as being about 57 in height, thin build, wearing a dark grey hooded sweatshirt and black pants. The white female was described as being about 54 in height, stocky build, wearing a light grey hooded sweatshirt and khaki pants. The suspects were last seen leaving on foot towards Von Logan Drive with an undisclosed amount of currency.
One customer was inside the establishment when the robbery occurred, however, no injuries were reported.
