Lector & Eucharistic Minister training
A Eucharistic Minister training session will
be held on September 16. Lector training
sessions will be held September 15 and 17.
If you are interested in serving in either of these
ministries, please plan to attend one of these
sessions in the Holy Spirit Chapel from 7:00-
9:00 pm. If you have any questions, or if cannot make the training

BE SOMEONEs Friend
Come join a group of volunteers who make people
happy! On Sunday mornings we carpool to our
sister community at the Austin State Supported
Living Center (a residential facility for people who
are mentally handicapped). We accompany
residents to a Catholic prayer service we hold in the Chapel. Many
of these folks are in wheelchairs and could not come to church
without us. For more information, please sign up at the UCC Front

Serving in ministry at the UCC?
By Diocesan requirement, if you serve in any ministry that works
with children or vulnerable adults, you must be certified by the
office for Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM). For new
volunteers, there will be a 3-hour workshop this Wednesday night;
for anyone needing the required Refresher workshop, one will be
offered this Tuesday night. To register, visit the Diocese of Austin
webpage and click on EIM Workshops under Quick Links and
submit an application. You may attend any available workshop
you do not need to attend those offered by the UCC.

Altar Server training will be on Monday,
September 22 at 7:00 pm. If you would like to
assist during Sunday Mass as an altar server,

Masculine Spirituality Tuesdays, 7:30 pm
An ongoing weekly opportunity to talk with
other men in an attempt to balance a spiritual
identity with the demands and rewards of work
and home. The starting point is a reading shared
at the beginning of the session. The group meets
year-round and men join in when they can.

have pledged $8,456.41 to the CSA,
which is 169% of our goal of $5,000!
Parishioners have paid $6,821.41 to the CSA, which is 81% of the

After completing four blessed years of
accounting at UT, this school year begins with
my service to the UCC. I am excited, grateful
and honored to be the business manager for the
Catholic community here. My goal is to help
our ministry use its resources as efficiently and

love further. I know I still have a lot to learn as a recent graduate
and newlywed, but I am eager to hit the ground running for our
