El principal objetivo de la empresa VULKAN Kupplungs- und Getriebebau y de todas sus
subsidiarias es poder ofrecer productos de alta calidad a precios competitivos, para as en
cualquiera de los casos satisfacer las expectativas de los clientes.
Nuestro sistema de gestin medio ambiental satisface toda normativa legal, tanto a nivel
local, como nacional, encaminada a prevenir la contaminacin medio ambiental.
Todos nuestros colaboradores de la casa
matriz, como de las subsidiarias quedan
en aportar su fiel compromiso y soporte

sistema integral de calidad y gestion medio

Vulkan - Pembril fluid couplings already arrive in the South American market
with the vast experience in design, application and manufacturing. The cou-
plings are manufactured based technologically on one of the biggest fluid manu-
facturers in the world Pembril. For years, Pembril designed, manufactured
and applied in mills, conveyor belts, fans and many other high inertia machinery.
The Vulkan-Pembril partnership now combines Vulkans sales force and the technical
support of a specialized team, with Pembrils renowned technology.
Los acoplamientos hidrulicos Vulkan-Pembril, llegan al mercado sudamericano
con amplia experiencia de proyecto,aplicacin y fabricacin.
Los acoplamientos son fabricados con base tecnolgica de uno de los mayores fabricantes
de acoplamientos hidrulicos del mundo, a Pembril, durante aos desarroll, fabric
y aplic en molinos,fajas transportadoras, ventiladores y muchas otras mquinas
de alta inercia. La sociedad Vulkan-Pembril, ahora une la fuerza de ventas de Vulkan y
el soporte tcnico de un equipo especializado y con la tecnologaconsagrada de Pembril.
The fluid coupling works as a pump-turbine system. The drive side pumps the
hydraulic fluid against the turbine side, thrusting it. The motor starts with no
load, quickly reaching 85% of its rated speed. This is when the driven side
begins to accelerate smoothly, without overloading the motor.
El acoplamiento hidrulico funciona como un sistema de bomba-turbina. El lado
motor bombea el fluido hidrulico contra el lado turbina impulsndolo. El motor
parte sin carga, alcanzando rpidamente 85% de su velocidad nominal. En ese
momento, el lado movido comienza a acelerar suavemente sin sobrecargar el motor.
Operations Mode

The couplings hydraulic fluid can be hydraulic oil or water for certain applications.
Consult Vulkan in this case.
Advantages in the use of Vulkan-Pembril hydraulic couplings:
Starting of the motor with no load;
Smooth acceleration of the load;
Protection of the machine and motor against overload with limitation
of the maximum torque transmitted;
Selection of the motor through the operating torque, not requiring
oversizing of the motor through the starting torque;
Lowest power consumption by the motor;
Short Pay-off (retorno de la inversin);
High efficiency due to the low sliding;
The maximum torque transmission capacity can be regulated in the range
between 80 and 270% of the operating torque;

El fluido hidrulico del acoplamiento puede ser aceite hidrulico o agua para
determinadas aplicaciones. En este caso consulte Vulkan.
Ventajas en la utilizacin de acoplamientos hidrulicos Vulkan-Pembril:
Arranque del motor sin carga.
Aceleracin suave de la carga
Proteccin de la mquina y del motor contra sobrecarga con limitacin
de torsin mxima transmitida.
Seleccin del motor por la torsin operacional, no siendo necesario
sobredimensionar el motor por la torsin de arranque.
Menor consumo de energa por el motor.
Reducido Pay-off (retorno de la inversin).
Alta eficiencia debido al bajo deslizamiento.
La capacidad de transmisin de par de fuerza mximo puede ser regulada
en el rango de 80 y 270% de par de fuerza operacional.

Vulkan-Pembril couplings can be supplied in four basic designs:
Without delay chamber: HTC Type Enables setting the starting maximum
torque between 170 and 270% of the operating torque;
With delay chamber: DFC Type Enables setting the starting maximum
torque between 140 and 270% of the operating torque;
With extended delay chamber: WDFC Type Enables setting the starting
maximum torque between 120 and 270% of the operating torque;
With delay chamber for super smooth acceleration: PSS Type Enables setting
the starting maximum torque between 80 and 270% of the operating torque.
Los acoplamientos Vulkan-Pembril pueden ser suministrados en cuatro formas
constructivas bsicas:
Sin cmara de retardo: Tipo HTC Permite ajustar el par de fuerza mximo de
arranque entre 170 y 270% de par de fuerza operacional.
Con cmara de retardo: Tipo DFC Permite ajustar el par de fuerza mximo de
arranque entre 140 y 270% de par de fuerza operacional.
Con cmara de retardo extendida: Tipo WDFC Permite ajustar el par de fuerza
mximo de arranque entre 120 y 270% de par de fuerza operacional.
Con cmara de retardo para una aceleracin suave: Tipo PSS Permite ajustar el

For easy maintenance and assembly, Vulkan-Pembril fluid couplings are
supplied in the DTMC (with delay chamber) or WDTMC (extended delay chamber)
forms. They are assembled with two sheet couplings at the ends, which enable
radial disassembly of the coupling. In addition, the weight of the coupling is
divided between both axles.
Para facilidad de mantenimiento y montaje, los acoplamientos hidrulicos
Vulkan-Pembril, pueden ser suministrados en ls formas DTMC (con cmara de
retardo) o WDTMC (cmara de retardo extendida). Son montados con dos
acoplamientos de lminas en las extremidades, lo cual permite el desmontaje
radial del acoplamiento. Adems de eso, el peso del acoplamiento queda dividido
entre los dos ejes.

Vulkan-Pembril FP Type
The FP Type Fluid Couplings are constructed in assembly with V belt pulleys,
which replace the pulleys usually assembled in motors. The assembly is simple.
The FP coupling enables a starting with no load of the motor and a smooth and
controlled acceleration of the machine, assuring protection against overload of
the motor and machine.
Using the FP type fluid coupling in place of a standard pulley, one can use a
smaller motor, since the fluid coupling enables the motor to accelerate faster
and the motor peak torque can be used to accelerate the machine.
The motor starting and peak torques can be determined precisely by filling of
the couplings initial oil. Future adjustments to set the drive as desired can be
done easily without disassembling the machine.
Fuse plugs are assembled in all the sizes, except for the smallest, providing
protection against excess temperature due to locking or overload of the machine.
The FP coupling can be supplied without pulley (except for size 8), allowing the

Layouts for vertical assembly are also possible.
An important characteristic of the FP is that there is no need to dissemble the
coupling for assembly in the motor, only needing alignment of the belts.
Nine (9) sizes are available, for 0.1 to 150 kW. See selection table.
Typical applications: Conveyor belts, mixers and agitators, centrifuges, convey-
or chains, ball grinders and mills, among other applications.
Pulleys with special dimensions can also be supplied.
Los Acoplamientos Hidrulicos del Tipo FP, son construidos en conjunto con
poleas de correa V, que sustituyen las poleas usualmente montadas en motores. El
montaje puede ser realizado de modo simple. El acoplamiento FP permite un arranque
sin carga del motor y una aceleracin suave y controlada de la mquina, asegurando
proteccin contra sobrecarga para el motor y la mquina.
Utilizando el acoplamiento hidrulico tipo FP en el lugar de una polea estndar,
se puede usar un motor menor, porque el acoplamiento hidrulico permite que el
motor acelere ms rpidamente y el par de fuerza de pico del motor puede ser utilizada
para acelerar la mquina.
Los pares de fuerza de arranque y de pico del motor, pueden ser determinados
precisamente por el llenado del aceite inicial del acoplamiento. Los ajustes futuros
para regular el accionamiento conforme sea deseado, pueden ser realizados fcilmente
sin desmontar la mquina.
Los fusibles de enchufe son montados en todos los tamaos, con excepcin del
menor de todos, proporcionando proteccin contra exceso de temperatura, debido
al bloqueo o sobrecarga de la mquina.
El acoplamiento FP puede ser suministrado sin polea (excepto el tamao 8), permitiendo
al cliente, adaptar su propia polea o engranaje de cadena, en el caso que sea necesario.
Tambin son posibles, las disposiciones para montaje en la posicin vertical.
Una caracterstica importante del tipo FP, es que no es necesario desmontar el acoplamiento
para montaje en el motor, siendo necesario slo el alineamiento de las fajas.
Estn disponibles 9 tamaos, para 0,1 hasta 150 kW. Vea la tabla de seleccin.
Aplicaciones tpicas: Fajas transportadoras, mezcladoras y agitadores, centrfugas,
transportadores de cadena, moledores y molinos de bolas, entre otras aplicaciones.
Poleas de dimensiones especiales pueden ser suministradas.

The PST Type Fluid Coupling, when used with a constant speed motor, enables
a speed regulation without stepping, being ideal for a wide range of applications,
including drive of fans and pumps.
It can attain up to 10,000 kW at 1,000 RPM. The rotary components are supported
by ball bearings and roller bearings in a stationary housing fixed horizontally,
totally sealed, which in turn also serves as an oil reservoir. An oil circulation
pump is driven by a motor or by gearing directs to the input axle and is supplied
with the assembly.
The robust, weatherproof housing can withstand high temperatures, enabling
perfect use of the PST coupling in outdoor installations. An external controller
varies the position of the scoop, thus varying the speed of the output axle.
Automatic and remote controls can be adapted in this controller. Speed control
without stepping is possible at a ratio of 5:1.
The two tips of the axle (input and output) are parallel and suitable for most
flexible couplings.
Cuando utilizado el Acoplamiento Hidrulico Tipo PST, con un motor de velocidad
constante, permite un regulado de velocidad sin escalonamiento, siendo ideal
para una amplia gama de aplicaciones, incluyendo accionamientos de ventiladores
y bombas.
Se puede llegar a accionamientos de 10.000 kW a 1.000 RPM. Los componentes
rotativos son soportados por rodamientos de bola y de rodillos en una carcasa
estacionaria fijada horizontalmente, totalmente sellada, que a su vez, sirve tambin
como depsito de aceite. Una bomba de circulacin de aceite, es accionada por un
motor o por engranaje directo al eje de entrada y es suministrada con el conjunto.
La carcasa robusta, a prueba de intemperie, es capaz de soportar temperaturas
extremas, permitiendo que el acoplamiento PST sea perfectamente utilizado en
instalaciones al aire libre. Un controlador externo vara la posicin del tubo-cuchara
(scoop), variando as, la velocidad del eje de salida.
Los controles automticos o remotos, pueden ser adaptados en este controlador.
El control de velocidad sin escalonamiento, es posible en una razn de hasta 5:1.
Las dos puntas de eje (entrada y salida) son paralelas y adecuadas para la mayora
de los acoplamientos flexibles.
