The Indian Textile and Clothing industry is experiencing significant growth
leading to substantial exports and massive employment generation. As per the
survey carried out by the Labour Bureau of the Ministry of Labour &
Employment, GoI, the textile sector has generated 1.52 lakh employment
opportunities, the second largest for any sector in the country, between June 2009 and June 2010. This industry generates about 18% of
employment for the country and employs nearly 35 million people directly and indirectly. In fact, it is estimated that one out of every six
households in the country depends on this industry.
The size of India's Textile and Clothing Industry is expected to reach US$ 220 billion by the end of this decade, out of which export share will be
US$ 80 billion while the rest will be domestic consumption. It is estimated that during this period the textile sector will generate an additional 10
million direct employment opportunities.
Considering the huge job potential, NITRA is conducting 12 training programs and is coming out with several innovative joboriented
programs which are funded by State Govt. of U.P. and Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. NITRA, being in the close proximity to India's largest
textile and apparel hub Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Jaipur, and Panipat is the most ideal institute for youngsters to
undergo training and start a career in textile and apparel industry.
NITRA, offers a unique opportunity to the students to experience the reallife situations through its recently modernized workshops and
laboratories which are equipped with stateoftheart facilities. The highly competent and vastly experienced pool of faculty in NITRA is
dedicated to groom just the kind of manpower industry requires today. An active placement cell looks after the posttraining recruitment
activities.
I welcome you to NITRA for a prosperous career in textile and apparel industry.
