at-least 5 times a week, tick the chart and then sign the book. This
should only take a few minutes each time.

Reading
In Y5 and Y6 children are expected to take reading bags home every night. You will
find we have reading tasks at the front of our journals to complete at home (a
minimum of three per week) to support our reading.

Maths
You can expect your child to receive at least 1 piece of maths homework a week,
usually on a Friday, although this will depend on the topics being covered. The
homework may be practising some mental strategies, which we consider to be vitally
important and using websites to help with learning.

E-Learning
We have been learning how to keep safe online. You can make sure that your child is
using the Internet safely and appropriately by checking about E-Safety on the school
website: www.sbcschools.org.uk/inglebymill.

Uniform
May we take this opportunity to remind you of the schools policy regarding school
uniform. The uniform consists of:
navy sweatshirt/ cardigan
white polo shirt/ blouse/ shirt
grey trousers/ shorts/ skirt/ pinafore
blue and white checked or striped dresses in summer
plain white t-shirt and navy shorts for indoor P.E.
black shoes.
We ask that all children wear proper school shoes during the school day. Jewellery
should not be worn with the exception of a stud earring. Nail varnish is not
permitted.

P.E.
The children will need navy or black shorts and a white T-shirt for indoor sessions
and a track suit for outdoor sessions. Outdoor PE sessions may vary due to the
weather. Jewellery for PE is not permitted and long hair should be tied back.

Y6 National Tests: Week beginning Monday 11th May
Please note that no authorised absences will be given during this week and we hope
you will avoid booking holidays in the weeks leading up to the tests.

We look forward to working with you and your children over this coming year and if
you have any questions, please dont hesitate to contact us.

Yours sincerely
Year 5 and Year 6 Teachers
