Picture by Mark Davies SITUATED in the heart of Lla- ndeilo, Ginhaus has quickly attracted numerous foodies. This new delicatessen, gin and wine bar is crammed with all manner of food and drink delights. Ginhaus, at 1 Market Street, is run by husband-and-wife team, Mike and Kate Kindred, who transformed the former busy pub into a modern and bustling deli and wine bar. A warm welcome and a re- laxed, informal feel greet cus- tomers who will find the deli a food lovers dream. Freshly baked bread, lo- cally roasted coffee, world renowned gin, cheese, meats and wine, and a well-stocked cheese counter stands along- side an array of olives, anti- pasti, charcuterie and a week- ly fresh fish counter. There is always an assort- ment of locally produced Welsh products. To the left of the deli is the open kitchen and bar, with a wide selection of wines and lo- cal beers and a seating area to sit and enjoy a coffee or a bite to eat. Lunchtimes will be trans- formed as you struggle to se- lect from one of the delicious menu items, with freshly pre- pared ingredients straight from the deli counter. From frittatas to paninis and from baguettes to tortillas, the ever- changing lunch menu offers an exciting choice for every- one. Available every Friday and Saturday evening are a range of tasty dishes such as tapas and meat and cheese boards and brunch and breakfast menus, including freshly baked cakes and roasted coffee and pastries. Even more impressive is the display of more than 140 dif- ferent gins from around the world,an unrivalled selection not found anywhere else in Wales. With around ten gins open to try and buy and with count- less more on sale, it truly is a comprehensive and tempting display, a collection that is beautiful to admire and even better to sample.
