I have known Ms. Cole for past 4 years. As a graduate student she rotated in my laboratory laboratory. she
is very motivated hard working student with strong commitment to science. Unfortunately I was unable to
have her do thesis work due to funding issues in my laboratory. However, I have been in constant touch with
karen. I was an examiner on her qualifying committee and she did a great job. she has demostrated strong
reseach abilities and is verry committed. she is no doubt self reliant, independent. she has bbeen very up to
date with her current research information. She is quite familiar with various laboratory techniques and is a
fast learner of new state of the art techniques. i will rate her as one of the researchers in top 5 percentile.
With no resevations, I will strongly recommend her for the grant award. I am confidant that she will
successfully complete the proposed studies.
