Natural substances like skin and stone will inspire a breadth of tactile innovations. Elastic
epidermis is soft and spongy, while rocks contrast with noble strength. Brown will be the star of
the season, complemented by the full spectrum of skin tones. Black and cream act as anchors
for these sensual hues.

Replicating epidermal qualities will be
key this season, using very fine gauge
jersey with LycraFibers for fast
recovery. A range of skin tones like
blush, mocha and peach evoke second-
skin characteristics in sheer knits and
featherweight layers.

Supple and relaxed materials appear
in the form of swathes of fluid jersey.
Endless quantities drape and fold and
seem to drip off the body with luscious
liquid effects.

Surface texture in pale and tonal
materials will echo the natural
irregularities of human skin. Gathers,
puckers and soft ruching create tactile
textures that appeal to the sense of
touch.

Soft and cushiony adipose tissue will
be recreated using knitted materials,
stuffed with filler and padding. Large-
scale cables and ribbing stuffed with
soft wadding increase voluminous
silhouettes.

Recall the pioneering aesthetic of Rei
Kawakubo with unusual bulges and
appendages. Irregularly placed wadding
and asymmetric padding will renew
silhouettes by questioning and
examining the shape of the body.

Milk casein-derived yarns were pioneered
during the rationing rules of WWII and
their environmentally friendly properties
still appeal today. Super-soft Milkofil by
Filati Maclodio and milk fiber by A.
Sampaio & Filhos exemplify the
comfortable and sensitive properties of
this fiber.

Irregular surface qualities will take cue
from a variety of rocks and stones.
Marbled colors, stratified layers and
flaking textures are replicated using
mlange or heathered yarns. Neutral,
tonal hues recall natural materials and
are apt for cozy loungewear.

Delicate, powdery surfaces evoke an
ethereal femininity. This soft and
sensitive ambiance works best in fluffy
mohair and angora yarns that lend
themselves to cloud-like knitwear.

Look to interior textiles and industrial -
sized products to create chunky materials.
Chubby, rope-like yarns are knit to create
sturdy textiles and dimensional, cocooning
silhouettes.

Patterns derived from Zen gardens and
raked sand patterns ripple across knitwear
with a naturally soothing effect. Tuck
stitches, engineered textured stitches and
placed rows of reverse jersey create a
linear style with soft and organic finishes.

Terracotta and clay materials influence
matte-like surface effects. Mlange knits
create subtle tonal variation while solid
knits worn head-to-toe will modernize
this season!s styling. Create simple
kimono shapes to showcase these
wonderfully rich and earthy hues.

Brown paper and cardboard resonate
for their rough and humble properties.

brown hues.
