Honor Roll Recognition — “The Goods”

It pays to be on the honor roll. Students are recognized in a number of ways
at Yale Junior High School. For those individuals who work hard and earn high
academic marks in their classes, the honor roll recognition “goods” are your
reward. Students who make the honor roll are asked to pick up their recogni-
tion “goods” during their lunch period. Students earn pennants, pins, bumper
stickers, and wrist bands every time they make the honor roll. Congratulations
to all students who earned the honor roll this last marking period.

Stay Connected To Your School

One of the most important things a parent can do for their child is stay involved and know what is
going on in their life. School also plays an important role in the development of a child. In order
to better serve parents and establish communications between the school and home, Yale Junior
High School offers a variety of different communication tools. All staff e-mails are posted on the
school web-site (www.yale.k12.mi.us). Parents can also access their child’s academic grades
(homework, test score and overall average) through Parent Connect. If you have not enrolled in
Parent Connect, please contact Joann Sabada at 387-3231 ext 284.

WINTER II SEASON

Greetings from the 2010 Yale Junior High Yearbook

Staff! This year has been hard but rewarding; Year-
book Staff has been busy designing and submitting
pages to meet our deadlines. In addition to learning
new photography skills, staff is using computer pro-
grams like Herff Jones eDesign, MS Publisher, and MS
Excel. We have also learned sales techniques for sell-
ing yearbooks and advertisements. The 2010 Yearbook
costs $25 and is still available for purchase. If you are
interested in purchasing advertising for the yearbook,
please contact the Junior High office at (810) 387-
3231 ext. 232 or Ms. Morgan at

Accelerated Reader News

We are almost half way through the school year and thought that it would be a good time
to recognize the students who are putting forth the extra effort to challenge themselves
and their reading comprehension skills. A.R. is a curriculum–based assessment tool that
monitors both the quality and quantity of reading performed by the students. This reading
program is strictly voluntary. Each book has a point value based on the number of words
