Sept. 28, 2014 - 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Wrestling with God
Ezek 18:25-28 Those who repent shall surely live.
Psalm 25 Remember your mercies, O Lord.
Phil 2:1-11 Have in you the same attitude that is in
Christ Jesus.
Matt 21:28-32 Tax collectors and prostitutes are
entering the kingdom of God before you.

The great American humorist
Mark Twain once said: When I
was a boy of 14, my father was
so ignorant I could hardly stand
to have the old man around. But
when I got to be 21, I was
astonished at how much the
old man had learned in seven
years.
In todays Gospel, Jesus tells us a story about two
sons who were asked by their father to go work in
the vineyard. One refused but later changed his
mind and did his fathers will. The other promised
but failed to keep his word.
Our pride can sometimes blind us to the wisdom of
Jesus when he invites us to work toward building
the kingdom. We may shrug him off, claiming that
we are already doing enough, or that we dont have
time. Todays Gospel is good news. It gives us
hope. We can have a second chance; we can al-
ways change our mind and obey Jesus call.
