were used Oracle does not support this
Step 4: Perform System Sourcing
Default: Predefined Oracle Advanced Pricing record
"his step is required if:
$ (our pricing data application source is anything other than Oracle Advanced Pricing
$ (ou are integrating Oracle Advanced Pricing with an application other than Oracle
Order Manage!ent
Warning: %hanging the syste! source code can severely affect
pricing engine behavior "he pricing engine uses request types to deter!ine the
source of pricing data to be used when pricing a particular transaction Request type
is used to identify the type of transaction being priced ,henever the pricing engine
prices a request, the request !ust be sta!ped with the request type so the pricing
engine can identify the type of transaction "he source syste! is recorded on all
price and !odifier lists and is used to identify which application created this pricing
data -se the Pricing "ransaction .ntities Associations window to control which
pricing data is used to price transactions
Perfor! this step for each source syste! you want to !ap to a request type
Step : !erify or Create P"#
Default: Order /ulfill!ent, Required
A Pricing "ransaction .ntity *P".+ is an ordering structure that has associated
Request "ypes and 0ource 0yste!s Request "ypes and 0ource 0yste!s in the sa!e
P". share pricing setup data Additional 0ource 0yste! and Request "ypes can be
added to e1isting P".2s
"here are very rare instances where it is necessary to create a new P". A new P".
needs to be created only if the new request type uses a different ordering structure
and a different set of source syste!s that is not already predefined
Step $:Create %ualifier Conte&ts and %ualifier Attri'utes
Default: Predefined Oracle Advanced Pricing qualifier conte1ts, Optional
&f you s)ip this step, users will be able to chose only predefined Oracle qualifier
conte1ts and qualifier attributes for price and !odifier eligibility #ualifiers provide a
highly configurable and fle1ible !ethod of defining the rules which your business
uses to !anage pricing #ualifiers are used by the pricing engine to deter!ine
eligibility for price lists and !odifiers

values for benefit options
Step *: Perform Attri'ute Mapping
Default: Predefined Oracle Advanced Pricing attribute !apping rules Optional
Do this step if you have defined any additional qualifiers or pricing attributes in steps
4 and 5, or if you wish to change the defaulting !apping that has been seeded for a
seeded qualifier or pricing3product attribute Oracle provides predefined rules for
attribute !apping, for both qualifiers and pricing conte1ts, that enable a list of
values when selecting eligibility criteria #ualifier and pricing attribute !apping is
required to supply a value for a qualifier or non$user entered pricing attribute before
pricing a transaction A !apping rule is set up to derive the value for the qualifier or
pricing attribute fro! the transaction itself or fro! another attribute of the
transaction Attribute !apping builds additional infor!ation about a transaction that
can be used to qualify for or derive a price, benefit, or charge for the transaction
Attribute !apping includes rules that enable you to configure !apping to source
qualifiers and pricing attributes according to your business needs
Step +: ,efine -nit of Measure
Default: None, Optional
-nits of !easure *-OM+ are used in Oracle Advanced Pricing to deter!ine the unit
value for what the pricing engine is pricing, !odifying, returning a benefit, or
creating an accrual
Do this step if you have not installed and set up Oracle &nventory or perfor!ed this
co!!on$applications setup for another Oracle Product
Step 1.: ,efine -nit of Measure Con/ersions
Default: None, Optional
(ou !ust define conversion rates between the base unit of !easure and other units
of !easure within a -OM class if you want to price and discount an ite! in a -OM
other than its pri!ary -OM Oracle Advanced Pricing uses these conversions to
auto!atically convert transaction quantities to the pri!ary pricing unit of !easure
defined on the price list when pricing cannot find a price in the transaction unit of
!easure &n addition, all price ad6ust!ents, benefits, and charges need to be defined
in the sa!e unit of !easure as the unit of !easure used on the price list
Perfor! this step if you have not installed and set up Oracle &nventory or perfor!ed
this co!!on$applications setup for another Oracle Product
Step 11: ,efine 0tem Category Sets and 0tem Categories

be used for defining price lists lines and !odifier lines On the Price 'ist and Modifier
for!s, the ite! categories are select in the product attribute field "he value set for
the ite! category attributes uses the ite! categories defined in Oracle &nventory
Oracle Advanced Pricing uses only one fle1field structure (ou can setup !ultiple
categories and !ultiple category sets "hese categories and category sets should be
defined for the defaulted standard fle1field structure (ou can create other ite!
categories in the product attributes ite! conte1t by creating a new attribute in the
ite! conte1t and attaching a value set
Perfor! this step if you have not installed and set up Oracle &nventory or perfor!ed
a co!!on$applications setup for another Oracle product &f you do not plan on using
Oracle category functionality for associated price or benefits, you can s)ip this step
Step 12: Set -p 0n/entory Organi1ation
Default: None, Required with defaults
(ou !ust define at least one ite! validation organi7ation in Oracle &nventory "his is
the organi7ation that ite!s are validated and viewed against when entering ite!s in

Perfor! this step if you have not installed and set up Oracle &nventory or perfor!ed
a co!!on$applications setup
Step 13: ,efine 0tem 0nformation
Default: None, Optional
Define the ite!s that you wish to price and discount and assign the! to the
validation organi7ations defined in step 89 &f you want to define qualifier rules which
include the seeded qualifiers 'ine :olu!e or 'ine ,eight you !ust set the volu!e or
weight attributes of each ite! as this is used by attribute !apping to derive the
transaction line, weight, or volu!e
Perfor! this step if you have not installed and set up Oracle &nventory or perfor!ed
this co!!on$applications setup for another Oracle product
Step 14: Create 0tem 2elations3ips
Default: None, Optional
