Real support for mobilisation
More than 30% of patients falls occur when they are getting out of bed. A detailed study of
ergonomics has given rise to a handrail and integrated mobilift, thanks to which the patient gains
assurance when getting up, he regains independence faster, and demanding work is made easier
for medical personnel. So the ingenious and functional solution in support of mobilisation on the
Eleganza 2 bed significantly reduces the risk of falls.
[01] HANDRAIL TO ASSIST IN GETTING UP
The handrail perfectly conforms to the natural position of the wrist
and the hand. At all angles of the backrest it provides very natural,
comfortable and safe support for getting up.
More natural: the unique turning of the handrail respects the
ergonomics of the wrist

Original shape of handrail on head side rails is available in

The stability of the thumb and index nger is important for a rm
grip. For this reason the thumb space was created using the latest
scanning method.
The handrail is functional in all positions (angles) of the backrest.
[02] EASIER VERTICALIZATION
More space beneath the sideboard in a lower position simplies
patient verticalization. By foot can be placed directly under the

Safe concept
The safety of the bed has been acknowledged by TV, a most prestigious independent German company. They
performed both single and long-term severe tests which conrmed the absolute safety and quality of the Eleganza 2
model and issued a certicate of the beds compliance with the standard IEC 60601-2-52:2010.
Although the bed should be a safe space for the patient, falls from a bed or
injuries pose a great problem for medical facilities. Uncompromising safety
is central to the concept of the Eleganza 2 bed. The side rails guarantee a
high level of protection against falls, and many other safety features make
Eleganza 2 a bed with the highest possible safety level.

[01] NO FALLS AND INJURIES
1. The Eleganza 2 complies fully with the EN 60601-2-52 safety
standard.

side rails run the entire length of the

mattress platform and prevent falls between the side rail and
foot board. No additional protector for the foot part is necessary.
3. The handrail provides maximum support for getting up safely.
The ergonomics increase the certainty of mobilisation.
4. The Brake Alarm prevents falls resulting from an unbraked bed.
5. The night-time illumination of the bed makes it easier to nd
ones way at night.
6. Zero gap concept There are always safety gaps greater than
2.5 cm between the moving parts of the side rails, so there is no
danger of ngers being crushed.

At night the change in backlighting to green can represent a
highly intuitive and clear signalling of the lowest safe position of
the bed..

The Eleganza 2 has xed boards, so only the mattress platform
moves when the bed is being positioned. So the sleeves for
the lifting poles and infusion stands located in the corners
remain in place, and there is no risk of an injury to the patient or
personnel.

FUNCTION
Features soft drop attenuated with gas springs lower
the sideboard. Quiet and smooth tilt helps to increase
patient comfort and undisturbed care.
[02] COLUMNS AND COVER OF CHASSIS
The telescopic columns constitute the dominant
design feature and also offer many user advantages.
The electric lifting units ensure stability and allow
height adjustment of the bed.
The linear column unit is covered by a European
patent.
[03] COLOUR CONCEPT
The colour scheme of the bed is highly variable and
fully conforms to the environment of the specic facility.
The silver or white bed structure can be augmented
with colours of the side rails and boards depending on
the needs and taste of each market. You can choose
from a total of eight very pleasant colours.

BACKLIT ANGLE GAUGE
The attractively designed angle gauge indicates the tilt of the
mattress platform and backrest clearly and with accuracy. At night,
the backlighting can be changed to green representing a highly
intuitive and clear indication of the lowest safe position of the bed.

[02] SOPHISTICATED ELECTRIC FUNCTIONS FOR
LONGER LIFE OF BED
MOTOR PROTECTION REDUCES SERVICING COSTS
The most frequent causes of faults in a beds motors are the
bed getting stuck under an obstacle (for example a windowsill)
or its overloading. Subsequent repairs are expensive and time
consuming. The Eleganza 2 has separate current protection for
each motor, which prevents potential damage in the case of a motor
overload. Protection is electronic, and after the elimination of the
overload the bed is ready for use without any intervention.
[03] VITAL MONITOR
Vital Monitor is an extremely sensitive sensor system built directly
into the bed structure. This system scans the patients vital signs
without any contact and is activated immediately after the patient
lies down on the bed. It uses wireless Wi-Fi transmission to display
the values obtained in this way on optional peripheral devices (PC,
TV set, phone, iPad).

Transport made easier
The beds transport qualities are excellent and make work easier for all nursing staff. Thanks to
the fth castor the bed is easy to manoeuvre, and many special functions reducing the demands
for patient support by staff also make treatment and transport easier.

castor makes the bed signicantly easier to transport.
Easy turning the 5th castor forms a point of rotation in the middle of
the bed and makes manoeuvring in very tight spaces easier and keeps
the bed going in a straight direction even when moving along long
corridors.

With its original shape, the handrail is suitable for small and tall nurses
and makes it possible to handle the bed. The ability to grasp the handrail
vertically too is ideal for rotating the bed.

Comfortable care
Comfort improves the mental condition of the patient and speeds up his
convalescence. The mattress platform of the Eleganza 2 bed has been adapted to
specic hospital conditions so that it can offer the greatest comfort.
[03] MATTRESS PLATFORM
The 90cm wide mattress platform offers a high level of comfort to all patients.
The specially designed ventilation channels allow air to circulate under
the mattress and so cool it and reduce moisture.
Holders along the edge of the mattress platform are designed for the
catching and targeted draining of uids which would otherwise remain
under the mattress.
The mattress platform is made of blow moulded plastic parts and so
can be cleaned very well.
[04] AUTO-REGRESSION
One signicant aid in the ght against pressure ulcers is auto-regression
of the mattress platform, i.e., increasing the space in the pelvic area by
11cm by sliding the backrest. This results in a reduction in pressure and
frictional forces, risk factors for the formation of bedsores.

SWITCHING OFF
OF THE BACKLIGHT BUTTON
In the case of sensitive patients who may
be disturbed by night-time backlighting, the
personnel can, with a single touch, switch
off the night illumination of bed chassis and
backlighting of all controllers and angle
gauges.
AUTOMATIC HALTING OF
BACKREST AT 30
Practical automatic halting of backrest at
the most frequently used angle of 30.
Operation is easy - during positioning the
backrest automatically stops at 30. This
function covers one of the most basic
standards in healthcare dened by GCI .
CARDIAC CHAIR
This position is used in the case of
cardiac difculties to make breathing
easier and potentially as a support
during drainage. It is very comfortable,
and the patient can also use it during
regular day-to-day activities like
reading or eating.

GO BUTTON
The controllers are activated by the GO button
for a period of up to 3 minutes from the last
push. The controllers are inactive in unguarded
moments, so they cannot be activated
unwittingly.
2 MOBILIFT
Button located in an original manner for
the rst time integrated into the plastic side
rail! It lifts the mattress platform and enables
comfortable and safe control of lifting during
patient mobilisation.
5 PATIENT SATELLITE CONTROL UNIT
The control symbols are large and highly
visible. The buttons are colour differentiated,
and they have a relief design for patients
with seeing difculties.
3 HANDSET
The practical controller for the patient and nurse contains
control of the basic positions of the bed, including tilt of
backrest and setting of bed height. The controller has an
examination light and can have a backlit keypad.
1 SUPERVISOR CONTROL PANEL
The nurses Supervisor control panel has an
ergonomic shape, and its clear graphics
are user friendly. Amongst its many functions
it also has a memory for 4 positions
cardiac chair, CPR, Trendelenburg and
Reverse Trendelenburg.
4 CONTROLS IN SIDE RAIL
The controller located in the side rail is easily
accessible to the patient and makes it possible
to congure the basic position of the bed. A
less mobile patient can also use the controller.
6 FOOT CONTROLS
The foot controller is located on the chassis
of the bed along both sides and enables
the easy conguration of the height and
examination position. It is tted with a
mechanical protector to prevent accidental
activation.

constructing the beds with regard to minimum bed widths,
therefore the bed width is now less that 100 cm. The bed will
t into lifts and into smaller rooms in older hospitals.

universal beds, there is extra versatility and safe working loads
