PREFACE
This document accompanies the delivery of the A9155 PRC
Generator Module V3.1 B267. This document presents the new
features of this version of the tool, together with the list of
corrected bugs, known problems and limitations.
This version of the tool was tested and validated for the following
BSS releases:
B8 full validation of the new features and changes
B7 non-regression tests and MLPC feature for B7.2
specific ACIE parameters
B6 non-regression tests.
This document is aimed at all users of A9155 PRC Generator
Module.
This document describes the changes (bug fixes, design changes,
new features) to the previous version and major known errors of
A9155 PRC Generator Module V3.1.

1 INTRODUCTION

Dear A9155 User,
Thank you for using the A9155 radio network planning software
and its PRC Generator Module.
A9155 PRC Generator is easy to install and operate, however
things may become clearer if you go through some of the
documents, that should give you all the information you need:

This chapter lists the problems in PRC Generator V3.00 B248
and that were corrected by PRC Generator V3.1 B267.
2.1 General
2.1.1 Check H1-4 shows wrong translations
ErrID141: H1-4: Show cell-Type translations - some wrong
translations in the database - this affects all B6, B7 and B8
releases.
Fixed translations.
2.1.2 Check B3-7 not triggered
ErrID 140: B3-7: Non-standard BBH cells - the check is not
triggered.
Moved check to C3-28.
2.1.3 Generate BBH and RH/NH is not working properly
ErrID 200: The algorithm for generating the BBH does not support
other hopping types mixed together. It is not possible to have BBH
and NH/RH in one network together if you want to generate the
FHS-systems.

2.1.4 The delta mode is not working for power control
parameters
ErrID 177:The delta mode is not working for power control
parameters, it falls back always to standard-mode. You will get
always all power control parameters selected in the ACIE-interface
encoded, even if there is no change. Impact: slight increase for
load and checking on the OMC.
Fixed.
2.1.5 Go to selected cell not working for external cells in
OMC Viewer
ErrID 173: The OMC Viewer contains a search function for cells
according to LAC and CI. Searching for an internal cell the cell is
opened after clicking 'go to selected cell' in the tree view.
This does not work for external cells. The tree is still closed.
Fixed.
2.1.6 Duplication of cell classes
ErrID 174: Under certain conditions some cellclasses will not be
deleted and CCG will create therefore duplicate cellclasses.
The following conditions must be met: use CCG to create
cellclasses. Attach cellclass-paramaters to some cellclasses. Restart
CCG. The cellclasses that have parameters attached won't be
deleted; those cellclasses will be created again by CCG. As a
result the assignment of cellclassparamaters will be
nondeterministic.
Fixed.
2.1.7 Check C3-25 is mistriggered
ErrID 199: The Check C3-25, which is triggered extensively, is not
computed correctly: it determines the number of FHSs by looking
for the highest FHS-ID, instead of counting the FHS-systems.

2.1.8 Decoded unselected OMCs
ErrID 211: "#D3 - check OMC files" successful detected OMCs are
selected automatically and decoded even if not selected by the
user for decoding.
Fixed.
2.1.9 Duplication of cells in customized ACIE interfaces
ErrID 212: The customized ACIE interface triggers duplication of
the cells when creating the cof files; this is due to the fact that the
"User-Label" is switched on in the "POWER"-group in the ACIE-
interface-definition. This clashes with the user label of the "CELL"-
group.
Fixed.
2.1.10 Incomplete refresh of the database
ErrID 213: After the installation/moving of the PRC Gen if opened
before the refresh of the database location is finished the internal
database is in a corrupted status.
Disabled buttons on startup while refreshing locations.
2.1.11 Uploading of csv files without previous encoding
ErrID 216: Ftp-upload: if #e1-#e5 is clicked and more than 1
OMC is selected the upload is done even if the encoding is
stopped.
Fixed.
2.1.12 Check C2-3 delivered incomplete results
ErrID 222: Check C2-3 delivers incomplete results, not all cells
without cell class templates were detected.

Fixed.
2.1.14 Missing Userlabel in cell.csv determines wrong cof
files
ErrID 224: Export RNP_CELL_ID as cell_LAC_CI: the fallback to
cell_LAC_CI should be automatically done if the UserLabel column
is empty in the cell.csv file. Behavior of the tool if missing
userlabel:
- the empty user label triggers a lot of error messages
- the color of the bubbles in the decode log is not consistent
- trying to generate the cell classes after this wrong decode will
block the CCG
- generating the cof files has wrong results.

2.1.15 Missing error with missing subnetwork.csv on
encoding
ErrID 196: Missing subnetwork.csv file - if you change the directory
after decoding the routine cannot access the subnetwork.csv file
and therefore the header of the csv files is incomplete.
Fixed implemented error message for missing subnetwork.csv.
2.1.16 Duplicated cell classes
ErrID 225: If there are manual cell classes existing when CCG runs
then the tool modifies the name of the existing manual cell
classes; in several steps this process ends in duplicating cell
classes
Fixed - changed the naming algorithm for CCG to avoid
duplication.
2.1.17 Wrong operational statistics
ErrID 226: The OMC statistics show data from planning: checks
B1-2 and B1-6 show also the planning data, not just the
operational external cells and adjacencies

3 CHANGES AND NEW FEATURES
This chapter lists the most important changes and new features of
A9155 PRC Generator V3.1 B267. For a better overview, the

3.1.2 Improvements
Changed behavior for search userlabel and search cellref
in the OMC Viewer window: * is added automatically.
The entries in the generated csv files are now ordered:
RnlFrequencyHoppingSystem.csv is ordered by FHS-index.
Changed bitmap for orange bubble to be easier to
recognize.
Changed sorting order in the cell classes list in Cell
classes tab for better readability.
The button auto<->manual is now flip-flopping.
Changed OMC-ID: now the null values are not allowed
any more, an error message is displayed in the log when
trying to save the properties of an OMC with empty
OMC-ID.
3.2 New Features
3.2.1 LCS feature
PRC Generator V3.1 B267 together with A9155 V6.2 (starting with
B1000) now supports the new feature introduced in B8 BSS
release LCS (Location Services) that provides geographical
locations of a MS. The following LCS parameters are handled:
Geographical coordinates (longitude, latitude)
Azimuth
HalfPowerBeamWidth.
3.2.2 Reduce to subnetwork
It reduces the network only to the selected BSCs in the BSC list and
the external cells. All the cells outside this selection and the
adjacencies between the cells inside the selection and outside are
deleted. Thus the tool now supports the consideration of the
subnetwork scenario, needed in different projects.

3.2.3 Create missing cell class parameter templates
In the Cell class params tab it was implemented the Create
missing cell class parameter templates that for all the parameters
in the active ACIE interface that have as source cell class
template and dont have an entry in the cell class parameters list
generates an entry with parameter name and cell class, without
values.
3.2.4 New checks

- A1-10: Sectors (RNO file)

- C2-8: Invalid settings for LCS services in RNO file
- C4-11: Check for adj-channed handovers
- C4-12: Cells with more than 32 handover targets
- C4-13: Cells being more than 32 times a handover target

- D2-5: Suspicious alignment
- D3-6: Mismatch between the cell class and the no of TRXs on
OMC

3.2.5 New options
TRX<->cellclass: toggles the mode of the cell class
between cell class and TRX-table exceptions.

In the subnetwork scenario, if BSCs from several
OMCs are selected and the Consider BSC selection
is enabled an error message will be triggered in the
encoding log.

ErrID 142: C5-6: GPRS-enabled cells with no
GPRS_PREF_MARK>0 - check not triggered - B7 specific.
Check manually.
4.1.5 Deleted cell classes
ErrID 175: If you delete a cell class the combo box in the
cellclassparameter-windows will show a line called "#deleted#".
Proper behavior would be to show the refreshed combo box
without showing the deleted line at all.
Close and reopen the application.
4.1.6 Cell class analysis and generation are inconsistent
ErrID 210: Cell class analysis and generate cell class are not
consistent; the generation algorithm is duplicated and is outdated
for cell class analysis. Therefore, the names of the generated cell
classes have a suffix (-A,-B etc) and the names in the tree view of
the analysis dont have this suffix. Besides this suffix, the cell
classes in the analysis and in the generated ones are identical.
No workaround.
4.1.7 Abort button not working all the time
ErrID 214: The Abort button is not working while generating cof
files and some other situations.
Stop the application and restart the encoding/decoding process.
The whole process of decoding/encoding should be rerun after
forcing the closing the application in order to insure the
consistency of the internal database.
4.1.8 Display problem for the log in the CCG tab

ErrID 221: The log in the CCG tab is overlapped over the result of
the cell class analysis view
Switch to another tab in order to force the refresh.

4.1.9 Generate NH/RH: FHSno is not 1

ErrID 227: Generate NH/RH for a network with only NH/RH cells -
FHSno differs from 1 and uses the number from HSN file. For the
NHRH cells the FHS number should be 1.
None. This FHS number different from 1 doesnt produce errors in
the OMC.
4.1.10 Subnetwork and multi OMC environment: missing
error message
ErrID 228: Check the behavior of the interaction of subnetwork
and multi-OMC contexts - external cells handling - Error message
is triggered only if Consider BSC selection is enabled - if you do
not select "BSC-selection", then the selections on the BSC-list have
no effect at all. On the other hand at encoding the prc-gen does
not know if the network was derived from a full import or was
reduced.
Enable Consider BSC selection.
4.1.11 Generate BBH impacts also the NH/RH cells
ErrID 229: Generate BBH for a network with BBH+NH/RH cells +
Generate BBH for a network with NH+BBH+NH/RH cells - For the
NHRH cells both planning and internally generated FHSs are
considered; FHSs generated like for BBH cells. Wrong generated
csv files.
Enable both Generate BBH and Generate NH/RH when using
incomplete planning data in terms of hopping systems. In this
case, the tool will generate correct hopping systems for BBH and
NH/RH cells, with the exception presented at 4.1.9 for NH/RH
cells.

4.2 Restrictions
4.2.1 No Adding/Deleting of Internal Cells and TRXs
Feature is not foreseen currently.
4.2.2 More than 2 FHS per BBH cell and 1 FHS per RH_NH
cell in non-concentric case
This is a restriction coming from A9155 V6 planning tool.
4.2.3 Mixed configurations for hopping cells
Mixed configurations with additional NH TRXs in case of RH/NH
and BBH cells are not supported. A9155 V6 planning tool does
not support this configuration.
4.2.4 No support for concentric cells for generate BBH
and generate NH/RH features
The features generate BBH and generate NH/RH cannot
handle the creation of hopping systems for concentric cells.
4.2.5 BS_TXPWR_MAX and BS_TXPWR_MAX_INNER should
not be modified via module
The parameters BS_TXPWR_MAX and BS_TXWR_MAX_INNER are
switched off in the interface definition, because these parameters
are not basically supported by the interface.
The reason for this is the unit of the parameters which is different
within A9155 and OMC:
In A9155 the parameter has the meaning to be the
absolute power value in dBm.
From OMC point of view the value means the attenuation
to the maximum power of the BTS.
As the maximum BTS power is not known there is no sense in
transmitting the parameter to A9155.
