Dear Staff and Community,

On Monday, October 6
th
the Admiral King Students and Staff will report to their temporary assignments. Numerous
meetings with different stakeholders have been held over the past few days to work through all issues and make this as
seamless as possible for our students and their families. We realize families have students assigned to different buildings
and we apologize as we tried to minimize the impact of our decisions. I have highlighted each section so you are
informed as to your childs building, teacher, room assignments, bus information and parent contacts.

GENERAL INFORMATION (Times, materials, etc.)
School times remain the same for all buildings. Admiral King students will begin their day at 8:40 a.m. and
end at 3:10 p.m. School times have not changed. Morrison, Washington and Garfield students will begin
school at their usual time of 8:00 a.m. and end at 2:30 p.m. This will assist with student busing and parent
pickup.
This is a temporary situation and the priority is safety and security of our students. Our second priority is
insuring our students are with their trusted teacher.
Our Lorain Schools staff will be as accommodating as possible. If you have to drop students off at different
locations, we will work with you if child arrives late. We understand.
Emergency medical forms and medications have been transported to the new buildings.
We met with the teachers of Admiral King on Thursday morning and discussed the relocations. They created
individual lists by their classroom of items needed and personal items and came up with many ideas and
solutions.
On Saturday, a crew of twenty will be collecting classroom materials and the remaining student book bags.
They will be packed and labeled by individual classrooms at AKE, and transported to the new assigned
building and classrooms. Teachers will take time on Monday to distribute the collected materials.
This weekend you may be contacted by the relocated building principal to visit the new buildings this
weekend.
Parents are welcome to walk their students into the building on Monday.
PLEASE NOTE - Parking will be limited with the additional staff and students. We ask that you please be
patient.
We have hired 3 additional substitute Assistant Principals for each building for the duration of the relocation.
Mr. Keefer, AKE Principal, will be at all three buildings throughout the day.
