Paper-I
=======
>> Indian Culture
1. Spectrum Indian art and Culture
2. Gazateer of India volume-II - Indian art and culture

>> World History
3 & 4. NCERT The story of civilization vol-I & II (very good quality unlike the fainted copies in market)

>> History after 1947 till present
5. India since Independence by Bipin Chandra

Comments:
* I believe "Gazateer of India volume-II - Indian art and culture" is going to be very useful this time, given the increased overall
weightage for culture part.
* I studied NCERT The story of civilization vol-I & II, and found that there are no other books which explain the concepts so
lucidly and clearly like the NCERTs. These books are really like story books and can be completed in short time. These books
are like Bipin Chandra for Modern History!

Paper-II
========
>> Governance, Constitution & Polity
6. Oxford - Public institutions in India: performance, design and appraisal by Pratap Bhanu Mehtha

>> Social Justice
7. 12th FYP
8. Economic Survey

Comments:
* Public institutions in India by Pratap Bhanu Mehtha is an awesome book. Given, the general or vague or analytical questions
being asked in the exam, this book might come handy.

Paper-III
=========
>> Environment
9. New Age International - Environmental Studies by Kaushik & Kaushik

>> Diaster Management
10. GoI report on Diaster management in India
11. 2nd ARC report on Crisis management

>> Linkages between development and spread of extremism
12. GoI report on development and extremism

>> Basics of Cyber Security
13. Microsoft book on basics of cyber security

Comments:
* Environmental Studies by Kaushik & Kaushik is a recommended book for JNTU students. It covers the exam portion on
'Conservation, environmental pollution and degradation, environmental impact assessment' much more comprehensively than
other books.
* The Microsoft cyber security book can be understood even by non-engg. background people who have comp. basics

23. Ethics In Governance by Ramesh Arora
24. 2nd ARC report on ethics in governance
25. 2nd ARC report on RTI
26. 2nd ARC report on Citizen centric administration

Comments:
* Restoring Values by E Shreedharan was recommended by S. K. Mishra (Retd IAS) of Chronicle IAS academy. It has essays
by many outstanding people like Kalam, Shreedharan, Venkatachalaih, Jaiprakash Narayan IAS and so on (almost half are
IAS/IPS Officers). I found it to be very good.
* Archana Sawshiya covers many of the above topics
* I believe more than coaching institute materials, which themselves dont have ethics, reading standard textbooks and
reflecting on them would help us more for the GS IV paper.

NOTE: Some of the above books might be available on internet in pdf format. Since I prefer hardcopies, I did not bother to
gather them.
