Eligibility The purpose of this scholarship is to promote educational opportunities for young ASEAN students with an excellent academic record and leadership potential. You must be a citizen of an ASEAN country wanting to enrol in your first year of undergraduate study at Victoria University of Wellington, and be under the age of 23 on 31 December 2014. Please read the full eligibility criteria for this scholarship in the terms and conditions section of the application. A P P L I C A T I O N Victoria is pleased to offer six ASEAN Undergraduate Tuition Fees Scholarships for 2015. The scholarship covers the tuition fees for the first year of study (two trimesters) of an undergraduate degree at Victoria University of Wellington. 1. The scholarships will be awarded on merit to outstanding candidates who meet the criteria below: + be a citizen of an ASEAN country; + be completing (or have completed) the academic requirements for admission into an undergraduate degree at Victoria University of Wellington in 2015; + have submitted an application to study at Victoria as an undergraduate International Student in 2015; + be intending to enrol for the first year of study of an undergraduate degree at Victoria University of Wellington in 2015; + be under 23 years old on 31 December 2014; + be able to obtain a student visa; + produce evidence of achievements or forecast achievements to meet the admission requirements; + have met Victorias English language requirements for undergraduate study; + not have lodged, personally or as dependents, a current application for migration or have been granted residence status in New Zealand. 2. The scholarship can commence in either Trimester 1 or 2, 2015. 3. After the closing date applications will be short-listed on the basis of outstanding academic merit. The final selection from short-listed candidates will be made after a telephone or Skype interview and will take into account such factors as character, extra-curricular activities, international perspective, potential adaptability to a new country and ability to meet the costs of tuition after their first year of study at Victoria. 4. The Director, International Programmes, may recommend that the scholarship be suspended or terminated if, on review of the first trimester of grades, it considers that the scholar has not made satisfactory progress in their first trimester of study. Failure in two or more courses in the first trimester will normally result in the automatic termination of the scholarship. 5. The closing date for applications is 31 October 2014.
