LEADERSHIP TRAINING BIBLE STUDY 25

TH
SEPTEMBER, 2014
TOPIC: LEADERSHIP IN THE KINGDOM PART 1
MAIN BIBLE TEXTS: Mk 10:35-45; Matt 23:1-2; I Tim 3:1
MEMORY VERSE: This is a true saying: If a man is eager to be a church
leader, he desires an excellent work. 1 Tim 3:1-2 (GNT)
INTRODUCTION
The standard, model or pattern of leadership in the Kingdom of God is
distinctly different from that of the world. The word standard, pattern or
model in this context means an example for imitation or emulation. From
our main texts the Bible is very clear on the pattern of leadership God
expects from Kingdom men and women. Leadership must be by example
and exercised on the platform of service; the following outline will guide us
in addressing this issues. May God grant us understanding; Amen.
STUDY OUTLINE
1. Identify what should be the true motivation for Kingdom men and
women who seek leadership; and compare this with that of the
world? I Tim. 3:1; Eph. 4:11,12
2. In the following Bible references observe and discuss what makes
a leader great, according to kingdom standard? Matt.23:11, 12; Mk.
10:42-45.
3. Discuss with examples the term Leadership by example? I Pt.5:1-
3; I Tim.4:12; Jn.13:12-17.
4. Discuss how one can be the leader and a servant at the same
time? Eph.5:23-27; Mk.10:43-45; Exo.32:7-13, 31-32.
CONCLUSION
From our study it is clear that the true motivation for children of God (men
and women in Gods Kingdom) in leadership must be a heart of service; a
passionate desire to shine through their good works on earth and brings the
Father glory (Matt.5:14-16). This is in contrast to what the world seeks in
leadership positions: to be served, fame, power, material benefits etc.
kingdom men and women must lead by showing good examples for their
followers to emulate; while themselves following the footsteps of Christ.
Only then can our leadership be correct according to Gods pattern. Seek
Gods help in your leadership responsibility.
