ABSTRACT

Effectiveness of TC and FFP transfusion was assessed by the increase of platelet
and the significant improvement PT/aPTT. Currently the guideline for rechecking
platelet count and the improvement of the PT/aPTT werent available in RSHS.
Objective to determine the effectiveness of the increase of platelet and the
improvement of PT/aPTT seen from examination intervals after of TC and FFP
transfusion.
Research method is retrospective descriptive and analysis with cross sectional
method. The complete of transfusion follow-up data were obtained from complete
medical records in Dr. Hasan Sadikin Bandung hospital; 42 patients received TC and
26 received FFP transfusion in January 2014. Conformity of platelet increase with TC
transfused calculated from number of TC transfused divided by TC flask volume then
multiplied by expected platelet increase. Fresh Frozen Plasma was analyzed by
monitoring the improvement of PT/aPTT appropriate dose given. TC and FFP
classification hour examination and post-transfusion of is divided into <60 minutes
and >60 minutes.
The results conformity of the platelet increase with the total TC post transfusion
for <60 minutes is 82.7% and >60 minutes is 53.8%. Conformance improvement of
PT/aPTT for <60 minutes is 37.5% and >60 minutes is 38.8%.
Conclusion is the transfusion of TC that were given <60 minutes were proven
effective, whereas FFP transfusion hasnt been effective neither in both category.

Keywords: Increase the effectiveness of platelets, improving PT / aPTT, TC,
FFP.
