1 Version introduction
1.1

The following versions can be upgraded.

Upgrade prerequisite
The U8800-51 handset software should be updated with the MICRO SD card.

2 Upgrade preparation
2.1

Check current upgrade environment

SD card update: Make sure that the MICRO SD card is available and can be read and

write.
2.2

Get and check the software package

Note:

1. There is 2 upgrade packages

Step 2\dload\UPDATE.APP and Step 2\dload\UPDATE_CUST.APP for upgrade

whole handset software.

Step 3\dload\UPDATE.APP for upgrade vendor (operator) information.

3 Upgrade operations
Notes:
1: Upgrade operations will erase the user data.
2: To make sure that the power of the battery is enough to run the upgrade
process.(We recommend the battery is full.)

3.1

Main package upgrade

(1) Prepare a formatted Micro SD card which at least has 512MB available space.

Make a dload directory on SD card.

(2) Copy theUPDATE.APP and UPDATE_CUST.APP to SD Card dload directory.
(3) Make sure your handset is powered off and then insert the MICRO SD card into
the handset. Press volume up and down key and then power key to upgrade.
(4) When Upgrade Complete appears on the screen, this stage of upgrading
finished. Then pull out the battery and the SD card.
(5) At last pull out the battery, SD card and USB cable (if connected). Then insert the
battery to reboot the handset, wait for a few minutes and enjoy it!

4 Upgrade validate
4.1

Check the version

(1) At the Idle screen, select MainMenu -> Settings -> About phone. Make sure the right
version as below:

4.2

Basic function check

Switch on the handset, enter the idle screen, input a dial number and make a voice

call, then long press the power key to power off the handset.

5 Notes
To make sure that the power of the battery is enough to run the upgrade process.
Maybe you can connect the handset with the charger or the USB data cable to provide
power.
