The current primary options to measure temperature pressure
and ow is complex, and requires multiple pieces of equipment
including a tee and zip ties. Also the accuracy of the current
options drastically decreases in some cases after only one hour.
Current meters require replacement during jobs and ofsite repair
or rebuild. The cost of violating government regulations is difcult
to quantify but the efects could include downtime, nes and even
litigation liability. This can have longstanding negative efects on
your company. Also with all the government regulations on safety
and monitoring it is important to accurately monitor and measure
the produced uids with one meter.
FMC Technologies can help. Our Weco Turbine Flow Meter is
engineered with simplicity, safety, accuracy and reliability in
mind. It accurately measures ow, pressure and temperature in
one piece of equipment. It is also capable of handling ow back,
cementing and hydraulic fracturing applications. Our meter will
allow you to complete a job with one meter, and allow you to
change the internal cartridge on site, reducing inventory costs, and
3rd party spending.
With ow back, cementing and hydraulic fracturing operations
becoming more sophisticated and capital-intensive, liability risks
have never been higher. Flow rate, temperature and pressure
measurements are vital to the success of your job, and for
complying with government regulations. The Weco Turbine Flow
Meter will improve your bottom line performance, and improve the
accuracy at your wellsite.
Markets
Flow Back
Due to new environmental restrictions and governmental
regulations, operators are required to monitor and
measure the produced uids of a wellsite. To solve this
new challenge FMC Technologies developed the Weco
Turbine Flow Meter. This will allow service providers and
operators to measure the produced uids on ow back
jobs with one meter.
Cementing
From cement slurry to other forms of abrasives FMC
Technologies is targeting a safe and sustainable Weco
Turbine Flow meter to accurately measure the quantity
of cement pumped down hole. In a postMancondo
environment it is critical we understand all uids being
pumped down hole.
Frac
Flow meters have been implemented in the fracturing
process for years. FMC Technologies has leveraged our
inhouse research and development teams in collaboration
with our global pressure pumping customers to solve the
most difcult problems on today's fracturing sites.

The Weco Turbine Flow Meter proved superior to the competitive
oferings. The internals lasted signicantly longer, and maintained
superb accuracy. Below reects test results comparing the Weco
Turbine Flow Meter to the top market competitors.
The table shows that the Weco Turbine Flow Meter outperformed
the three other competitors. Even after 1 hour of testing, two of
the three competitors were signicantly worst.

Problems and Solutions
Accurate Measurement of Fluids
Today's best meters at best ofer average reliability in terms
of accuracy. Majority of the time this means you are using
incorrect data to make decisions on your wellsite.
FMC Technologies purpose built a Weco Turbine Flow Meter
and extensively tested this meter against three of the
industry's top performers. We utilized Invalco eldproven
turbine meter design to make the most accurate meter on
the market. The results will show you how accurate the
Weco Turbine Flow Meter is compared to our competition.
Reducing the amount of equipment required
Today companies are using multiple devices to measure
temperature, pressure and ow, increasing the amount of
equipment required and increasing the safety hazards on a
wellsite.
FMC Technologies Weco Turbine Flow Meter will allow you
to measure ow, pressure and temperature in one piece of
equipment. The Turbine Flow Meter also features a Weco
1502 connection allowing straightforward hook-up to other
components used in hydraulic fracturing operations to
greatly reduce installation time.
Production Optimization
Currently companies are forced to replace the current meter
multiple times during a cementing stage. This is because
existing competitive oferings lack quality and innovation and
are incapable of meeting customer requirements by lasting
through an entire cementing stage.
FMC Technologies Weco Turbine Flow Meter allows you to
complete an entire cementing stage without replacing the
meter or internal cartridge.
Life Cycle Costs
Today companies are forced to send meters to 3rd party
facilities for repair or rebuild, forcing companies to keep
multiple meters in stock, therefore increasing in inventory cost.
FMC Technologies Weco Turbine Flow Meter will allow you
to change the internal cartridge onsite, reducing inventory
costs, and 3rd party spending.
1. The chart depicts actual test data on a
nitrogen injection job in Maurice, LA. The
Weco turbine meter mounts pressure and
temperature transducers directly to the
meter body.
2. This gives a more accurate reading
than our competition at less cost. The
competitors do not ofer metermounted
pressure and temperature. The end
customer must use Tees upstream and
downstream of the meter. The chart shows
the variances in readings when taken at
the ow meter or up/downstream of the
ow meter.
3. The graph also shows, at low ow rates,
how the Weco meter registers ow rates
where the competitors meter showed
ratings of zero.
