FACT: People are arrested and
spend time in jail for marijuana in
New Mexico. In Santa Fe County,
more than 100 people were booked into
the county jail for marijuana possession
last year.

More than 500 people were charged with
only marijuana possession in Bernalillo
County in 2013 alone.

FACT: Our jails are overcrowded.
Bernalillo County taxpayers spent more
than $10,000,000 on overcrowding in
MDC in 2013.

Persons charged with simple marijuana
possession face up to 90 days in jail a
long sentence for a non-violent offense.
