1. Executive summary:

This feasibility report aims to outline issues


associated with feasibility regarding the proposed
re branding of dell computers and the initiation of
future designs. This involves questions such as
whether the firm can afford to implement the
system, whether the costs out way the benefits, and
whether the proposal will fulfill the criteria of
the proposal. The report will also contain a needs
analysis that will outline the purpose of the
intended re brand.

3. Project description:

The project consists of a re branding proposal for


dell computers. This is intended to keep Dell
competitive in an ever changing and expanding
market and evidently increase their market share.
Design ideas have been discussed in the form of a
proposal report these include marketing design as
well as branding. Visual aspects of the logo and
image have also been outlined these include fonts,
colour schemes, Graphics and phrasing.

4. Background Information:

4.1 Company info:

Dell computers are the leading computer hardware


company in the world. Dell sells and supports
personal computers, servers, data storage devices,
network switches, personal digital assistants
(PDAs), software, televisions, computer peripherals
and other technology-related products.(1)

4.2 Project info:

The project consists of a proposed re brand for


dell computers. Rebranding involves subtle changes
to the brand's logo, brand name, image, marketing
strategy, and advertising themes.

5.1.1 Re Design Of the logo:

The re design of the logo would include aspects of


colors and style as well as typesetting and style.
The following aspects would have to be considered
For the design for the logo.

a.Greens – eco Friendly
b.Reds and oranges – performance class
c.Black – sophistication and style
d.White – minimalist and clean look.
2.Fonts
a.Keeps fonts the same for brand recognition

5.1.2 Re design of overall image:

This would include aspects such as marketing


and advertising as well as revolutionizing
the sales pitch. Issues such as:

• Colour
• Font
• Style
• Colour schemes

6. Most Feasible Solution:

The most feasible solution with the highest


estimated success rate and profit return is the re
design of the image. By choosing this dell would
expand their market by appealing to new target
markets.

6.1 Colour schemes:

Using new colour schemes such as brighter colours


would appeal to a wider range of people. This would
especially appeal to the younger generations and
would explore an un tapped market for dell. The

implantation of colours such as green would gain


association with eco friendliness and appeal to
people concerned about the current plight. Dells
association with large business would be maintained
through careful selection of font and un altered
packaging and image for business related products.
By doing this dell would not affect their current
target market and maintain the recognition it
currently has.

6.2 text, fonts and logo

The logo and text would also be changed minimally


to suit the proposed re brand. Fonts, Layout and
style would all be considered for dell in giving it
a modern and fresh look. The proposed changes would
take dell into the new generation and sustain dells
place as the leading computer manufacturer.

7. Conclusion:

The major hurdle in the proposed re brand for dell


computers would come in the risk of decreasing
sales and not being able to fund the extensive
commitments and production costs that the company
has. This is a risk that would have to be taken
into consideration. The design team would factor
this in and make all the changes in image minimal
as to not affect the current clients and customers.
