INTRODUCTION


This chapter represents the background, purpose, and specific purpose,
significance of the project, scope and delimitation including the definition of terms that
will be discuss on this chapter for the better understanding about on this project.


Background of the project

Social media is the social interaction among people in which they create, share
or exchange information and ideas in virtual communities and networks. According to
Andreas Kaplan and Michael Haenlein define social media as "a group of Internet-
based applications that build on the ideological and technological foundations of Web,
and that allow the creation and exchange of user-generated content.
As now we will use the social media in sharing and exchanging our information
around the world like in the business they shall advertise they product through
television, radio, internet and etc. to expedited the sale. Some business from now on
use an internet and have their own website for the easily and free advertisement and
also to easily identify their products by the customers.
Many peoples around the world use an internet for their own reason like for an
example online shopping. The online shopping gives the people an effortless and less
time buying of their needs. Also the internets helps the people in finding a desired store
that very rarely in particular place like a pet store. Many people as now becomes a pet
lover by taking good care on their pets by grooming, consulting their pets to the
veterinarian, buying a pet food and others. But some pet store are not familiar for the
pet lovers likes what particular area they are, the item that available on that store and
some related things on their pets.
So that the proponents of the study decided to develop a system entitled Online
Haneys Pet Shop that includes that entire concept. Using this system, some of the pets
lovers are not hard to buy a new pet, finding some things that need by their pets and
others.


Purpose of the project


The main purpose of this system is to develop a reliable Online Pet Store for the
all pet lovers that can help them to purchase easily some their pet needs or make some
reservation for the grooming or make some treatment of their pets that have injure or
have a disease. The system also provides a latest updates about how to take a good
care of their pets and latest grooms. It also provides the pet lovers a less time
consuming.


Specific Purpose of the project


The proponent aims to develop an online pet store that has the following specific
purpose:
1. To provide a reliable pet store for the pet lovers that involve grooming and
some treatment of their pets that have injured or have a disease.
2. To provide a best way for the pet lovers with less time consuming.
3. To provide the pet lovers an updates of the new arrival items and pets, how to
taking good care of their pets and others that given an advice to the pet
owners.
4. To produced web-based information system that is user friendly and easy to
navigate for the easy access.


Significance of the project


For the customers, this system will greatly help to the customers in finding a
reliable place by giving a trusted service and items that needed by their pets. It also
helps the user/customer in the way of lessen their time consuming by using an internet,
they can easily view the available product, pets, services and others that available on
the pet store.
For The Owner, this system gives a lot of customer to the owner by the used of
the internet. They can even advertise their store for free using social media like
Facebook, twitter and others.
For The Veterinarian, this system allows the veterinarian in giving popularity for
the customers and giving entrust to their pets. This system also provides the
veterinarian an opportunity to become famous to the customers.
For The Pet Store, this system helps the pet store in giving popularity to their
customers, by giving them a reliable place for their pets and also for the pet owners. It
also helps the pet store to become well-known to others and become easily saleable
their products and other services.


Scope and Delimitation

This study is focus on the customers need by giving them an effortless and less
time consuming in finding a good pet, and their pets needed. This system also provide
the customer to browse easily by the use of user friendly interface without an eye
irritating colors and others user interface that are not involve on this system. This
system allows the customer in making some reservation like grooming and treatment of
their injured or diseased pets.
This system consist of adding a new arrival pets or items, deleting an old post or
sold out pets and items, making an update ,search box for the fastest way in finding the
customer needs and view a particular reservation that made by the customer for the
grooming or treatment of their pets.
The system also provides the owners a better way to advertise their store and
having a lot of customer that know it. Being an online base business is the one secret
for having the successful business because many people around the world use an
internet, so that they can easily identify it.
This system does not cover if when the new arrival should be come, and also the
coverage of time of reservation like for an example two customers are make reservation
on the same time, so one customer will be wait until they done.









Definition of Terms

To better understand the terms used in this study the proponents prepared a list
of terms and their corresponding meaning.

Pet store/shop. is a retail business which sells different kinds of animals and pet
needed to the public
Online Pet store/shop. It is also a retail business like an ordinary pet store/shop but
they sells online for the better access of their customer.
Social media. is the social interaction among people in which they create, share or
exchange information and ideas in virtual communities and networks
Veterinarian. is a physician who has been educated and trained by an accredited
institution to diagnose and treat diseases and injuries in animals. Veterinarians care for
companion animals (e.g., dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, and rabbits), horses, production
animals (e.g., dairy and beef cattle, sheep, pigs, poultry), aquatic, and zoo animals.
Veterinarians vaccinate, administer medication, perform surgeries, and provide general
health care for animals.
Owner. Is the owner of the store and manage their sales.
Grooming. refers to both the hygienic care and cleaning of a animals as well as a
process by which a dog's physical appearance is enhanced for showing or other types
of competition

Product Perspective

This product is an online base system for an easily access to the users and allow
them to view all the contents wherever they are with the use of their gadgets with an
internet connection.
This system consist of adding a new arrival pets or items, deleting an old post or
sold out pets and items, make a reservation, making an update ,search engine for the
fastest way in finding the customer needs and view a particular reservation that made
by the customer for the grooming or treatment of their pets.


User Interface

Home Page, the user can easily view the new arrival items, some news like how
to take their pets, available veterinarian, etc. and most buyable thing in pet shop
Reservation Page, allows the customer to make some reservation according
their pets need like grooming or consulting in veterinarian.
Search Box, for the fastest way in finding the customer needs without browsing
all around in the site.
Pets Page, it contains all available with different section or category.
Item Page, it contains all items needed by the pet like pet food, fashion wear, pet
hygiene product, etc. and it has also a different section for better organize.
Customer page, allows the admin or owner to view all the reservation made by
the customer.

The proposed system should have at least these following minimum
requirements:


Software interface

The proponents used Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) and Cascaded Style
Sheet (CSS) to construct the framework of this system and provide the user a friendly
interface. The proponents also use PHP as the Server-side Scripting Language for the
navigation of all the function like adding, deleting and updating products and proponents
use MySQL as a database.


Communication Services

The user can access this system using their gadget with an internet connection.
This is the most important way to access and view this system. This system is an online
or web based system so that all user have an internet connection can access and view
it wherever they are.

Memory Constraints

To show the function of the system effectively it must be operate it on a windows
operating system with an internet connection and will be open using, chrome, Mozilla,
and other browsers except I.E does not support the style of the system.
It must have a 250 GB hard disk space or higher for the inventory of the system,
have a 2 GB Ram or higher and allows to have a fast internet for the updating or
maintaining the system and the products and with screen resolution of 1366 x 768.


Cite Adaptation

The propose system must be hosted over the internet, to provide many user can
access it. This system is an online web system that can be access using devices with
an internet connection. It is also to the best way and fast way to become popular to the
users.

Product Functions

The system can add all the items like new arrival products and pets and it will be
display on home page for the news in latest arrival so that the user can easily
acknowledge it. This system can also delete products like an out of stock products or
pets to make some update in this system and not to become messy.
It also have search box for the better way of user in finding they want pets or
products needs.


User Characteristics

The User must be computer literate or not, the system allows user to navigate
the system easily by the use of friendly interface. This system provides the user an easy
access interface for those users not literate on computer and internet.
The Admin/ owner must be computer literate and all the function of this system is
he knows. The admin/owner is the provider of all updates of products in entire system.

1. The Owner - Haney Tan. The one who manage the system and update all
the contents.

Assumptions and Dependencies

Having an internet connection is highly recommended to access this system.
This system is an online base and a users with an internet connection have access this
system. It must be open in any browser except I.E that not support the system design
and have a screen resolution of 1366 x 768 to function very well.
