Requirements of Engineering Geological Investigation
1. Geotechnical investigation object:
This is a detail geological investigation used for construction drawing design. The purpose of the survey is to provide technical data of rock/soil for buildings and structures construction, to make engineering evaluation for building foundations, to give demonstration and recommendation for foundation design and treatment, so as to avoid bad geological tendencies during project construction. 2. Survey requirements: For borehole location of the intended plant site see the plan of borehole position. The position and quantity set in this plan is only for reference, the final decision shall be made according to the actual design of geological survey company. The existing borehole should be fully used when making detail exploration design by survey team. .! "xploration work should be made in accordance with the current international standard. . To make clear the type, structure, thickness, slop degree and engineering property of each layer rock/soil. To evaluate the foundation stability# to provide foundation bearing capacity and calculation data of foundation deformation# to estimate deformation character# to propose suggestions of foundation design and treatment of each buildings and structures. .$ %scertain if there has karst, earth slide and fault under the ground of construction site. To propose the assessment and regulation about rock/soil as well as technical data of the needed rock/soil work. .& %scertain the type, trapped water condition, water level and variation regular, as well as layer penetrability of underground water. To determine the eroding impact of soil and water on building materials and metals as well as to give the protection suggestions and calculation data. .' To provide stability calculation for deep foundation pit and technical data of rock/soil need for support design. To proof and estimate the influence of excavation and draining on surrounding project. .( )rovide design parameter of shallow foundation, i.e. supply ground bearing capacity and modulus of compressibility of each layer *rock+. ., )rovide the histogram and sectional drawing indicating the -eological age of layer and origin .. To estimate earthquake intensity and earthquake acceleration for plant site design. To determine soil type, shear wave velocity and building type of plant site. To estimate rock/soil stability and cycle time of earthquake. To determine liquidation possibility of earthquake, if liquefy is possible, give further determination on liquidation degree and propose handling method. ./ The depth of boreholes0 The depth of boreholes shall be decided by the 1nvestigation Team. The Page 1 suggested depth of boreholes shall be followings0 -eneral boreholes, the depth should be more than 2m. 3ontrol borehole, the depth should be more than $'m. 4hen the site field is complicated, the depth of boreholes can be added. 1n the process of drilling before to the demanding depth, if bedrock was encountered, the hole should be drilled through weathered layer, solution cavity, carst well developed layer and into the moderate or slight weathered layer. For general boreholes, the depth of drilled into the moderate or slight weathered layer should be no less than meters# for control holes, the depth should be no less than 'm. .!2 The coordinate in general layout for all boreholes need to be provided. .
