Thepowerisbeinggeneratedby2Unitsof18MWGeneratorsat10.5kV.The
Generatorsareconnectedtothe150kVdoublebusbarswitchyardthrough2unitsof
22.5MVA,20/10.5kVgeneratortransformers.Theoutletofthegeneratorsisconnected
tothegeneratortransformersthroughasuitablemetalcladvacuumcircuitbreaker
whichmeetstheIEEEStd.C37.0131993.
Auxiliarypowerisfedtothe6.3kVMediumVoltageSwitchgearthrough2unitsof
suitablyrated,10.5/6.3kVunitauxiliarytransformers.
ThefollowingpowerconnectionsshallbedonebysuitableratedMVPowerCable.

400/230Vsystemprovidestheelectricmotorbelow200kWandtheloadoflightingand
repair;allACmotorequaltoormorethan750Wwilladoptthesinglephase50Hz230V,
or3phase50Hz400V.

1.5.2 Mediumvoltageplantpowerwiring
The6.6kVplantpowersupplyisdividedinto2sections;themainincomingpowercable
isconnectedfromtheNo.1andNo.2units,suitablyrated,10.5/6.3kVUnitAuxiliary
Transformers.
1.5.3 Lowvoltagepowerwiring
400/230Vsinglebusbarsystemwillbeadoptedforlowvoltageloadsof2Generators
and2Boilers.Innormaloperation,thepowerforthe2UnitLVMCCsissuppliedby2
unitsof6.3/0.4kVlowvoltageplanttransformers.
Thepowerforthecommonloadofboilermakeupwatertreatment,recyclingpump
station,coalhandlingandashremovalshallbederivedfromboththeUnitLVMCCs
whichshallprovidethesystemwithredundancyandmorereliability.
TheEmergencyDieselGeneratorshallprovidepowertotheEssentialMCCandduring
normalconditionthepowerfortheEssentialMCCshallbederivedfromtherespective
LVMCCs.

1.6 Emergencysecurityandcontinuouspowersupply.
1.6.1 Emergencysecuritypower
1unitofdieselgeneratorofsuitablecapacitywouldbeprovided.Theywouldprovide
ACsupplywhenthepowernetworkfailsoffowingtoothercauses.
ACsecuritybusbaradoptssinglebusbarconnectionandsuppliesACsecurityloadfor
differentsectionsfortheunit.ACsecuritybusbarissuppliedbypowercenteroftheunit
innormaloperation,anditwillbeswitchedtobesuppliedbyACsecuritypowerwhen
thepowercenterofunitfails.
Basedontheloadoftheunits,ACsecurityloadsincludebarringmotorforturbine,AC
lubricationoilpump,lubricatingoilpumpforelectricfeedpump,rotaryloadsofelectric
valve,floatingdeviceforbatteries,staticloadsforemergencylighting,loadsfor
computersystem,turbineregulator,thermalinstrument,navigationlampand
communicationsystemwhichneedcontinuouspowersupply.

1.6.2 ACcontinuouspowersupply
AsetofACcontinuouspowersupplyfacilitieswillbearrangedinthepowerplantfor
thermalautomation,computerprotectionandcomprehensiveautomaticdevice.
Thecontinuouspowersupplyadoptsstaticpowerinverter,mainlyconsistingofrectifier,
inverter,staticswitch,bypasssystemandswitchboard.Thepowertotherectifieris
suppliedbylowvoltageplantsection,thetransferredtosinglephase230Vto
switchboardthroughtoinverter.Thestaticswitchwillbeactivatestobypasssystemand
itwillbesuppliedbyanotherlowvoltageplantpowerwhentheinverterfails.
Themanualbypassswitchisinstalledforcontinuouspowersupplywhentheinverter
andstaticswitchareunderrepair.
1.7 Startuppowerforoperation
Thepowerforstartingthepowerplantinoperationalmodetillthegeneratorsarenot
synchronizedisprovidedbythegrid.
1.8 Arrangementforelectricequipments.
Themainelectriccontrolroomandthermalcontrolroomarecombinedasacentral
controlroomforunit,thegenerator,maintransformer,plantpowercable,plantspare
branch,sectionalprotection,monitoringandcomprehensiveautomaticdevice,
meteringandDCsystem,UPSforemergencylighting,excitationregulationscreen,
communicationsystem,firealarmsystemarearrangedintheelectricequipmentroom.
Theprotectionandmonitoringdeviceforlowvoltageplanttransformerandhigh
voltageelectricmotorarerespectivelyinstalledinthehighvoltagecabinet.
Thegeneratorroomisarrangedunderthegeneratorof2floorarrangement.
1.9 DCsystem
1.9.1 VoltageselectionforDCsystem
1setbatteryshallbeprovidedforeachpowerplantanddesignedforpowerandcontrol
loads.Thebatteriesaresuppliedby220Vpower.
ThepowerloadsmainlyincludeDCoilpump,ACcontinuouspowersupply,andbreaker
closingofdifferentvoltagerating.
Thecontrolloadsmainlyincludecontrol,mattering,protectionandsignalforelectric
equipments,andthecontrolandprotectioninthermaldiscipline.
1.9.2 DCsystemwiring
a)DCsystemofsinglebusbarsectionalconnectionformaincontrolroom.
b)Floatingchargingforbatteries,withno:andcell.
c)DCsupplynetworkadoptssupplypatternofradialandringtype.
1.9.3 EquipmentselectionforDCsystem
a)Selectionforcapacityofbatteries.
BasedonthedataofDCloadandvoltagecontrolcalculationmethod,agroupof230V
valvecontrolledsealedleadbatteriesof104cellsareusedindesign,thevoltageatthe
endofaccidentdischargingis1.75V/cell.
1.9.4 Excitationsystemforgenerator
Theexcitationsystemforgeneratoradoptsstaticmicrocomputercontrolledsilicon
excitationsystemofdualchannel.Theexcitationsystemmainlyconsistsofpower
transformer,3phasecontrolledbridgerectifier,overvoltageprotectiondevicefor
rotor,excitingdeviceandmanualexcitationregulator.
Theexcitationsystemhascompletemodesofvoltageregulation,currentregulation,
idleworkregulationandpowerfactorandfunctionofautomaticvoltagerisefromzero
andvoltagetracing.
Thecompletedualchanneltechnologywillbeadopted,twounitscanworkatthesame
timeandeachchannelcanindividuallyworkwithautomaticfailurerecognitionto
achieveswitchingwithnointerference.
2serialinterfacesarefitout,oneforcommunicationbetween2units,anotherfor
communicationwithsuperiorunits,whichrealizesremotecontrolinthecentralcontrol
room.
Thepowercabinetanddeexcitercabinetintheexcitationsystemforgeneratorare
arrangedinthegeneratorhouse,theregulatorcabinetisarrangedinthecentralcontrol
room.
1.10 Secondarywiring,relayprotectionandautomaticdevice

1.10.1Controlsystem
Theelectriccontrolfortheprojectadoptsthecontrolincentralcontrolroom.The
computermonitoringsystemisadoptedforthegenerator,maintransformerandplant
powerequipmentstomonitorandcontrolfunctionfortheelectricsystemand
computerrelayprotectiondeviceinthepowerplant.Theelectricswitchesforelectric
equipmentsarecontrolledbycomputer.
1.10.2Relayprotection
Thegenerator,maintransformer,highvoltagepowercableandlowvoltageplant
transformerareprotectedbyprotectionrelays;thedetailedprotectionincludesthe
followingbasedoncontract:

1.10.3Signal
The status signal, position signal and failure signal for high and low voltage motor are
monitored by DCS, the status signal ,position signal and failure signal for generator,
main transformer and plant power system are sent to computer for monitoring and
displayedonLCD,includingthefollowings:
Pictureandparametersforelectricdiagram;
Pictureandparametersfor6.6kVand0.4kVplantpowersystem;
1.11 Overvoltageprotectionandearthing
1.11.1Overvoltageprotection
The overvoltage protection for electric equipments shall be designed according to the
specificationandtheelectricequipmentsshallbeconnectedtothegroundaccordingto
therequirements.

1.11.2Lightningrod
Thelightningrodsareinstalledonchimneyandcoolingtower,thelightingproofbeltis
arrangedonthemainworkshop.
1.11.3Earthing
The protective earthing and working earthing for main workshop and high and low
voltage electric equipments share the same earthing networks, the earthing resistance
shall not exceed 0.5, the earthing networks for other workshops will be connected
withthemainearthingnetworkinareliablemanner.
Allearthingbodiesshalladopthorizontalcoppercoveredsteelconductor,whichisone
kind of dualmetal composite material with high strength, good flexibility, large
resistancehighmagnetic conductivity assteel, good magneticconductivityanderosion
resistanceascopper.

1.11.4Cathodicprotection
The projectislocated besidetheriverandthe recycledwaterisriverwater,whichhas
corrosiveinfluenceonthepipe,valve,pump,andsteelpipes,astoextenttheirservice
life, the steel pipes in internal recycling and open recycling systems adopt external
cathodeprotection,theprotectionsystemincludesauxiliaryanode,referenceelectrode,
constant potential rectifier, anode shield and accessories of connecting cables. The
cathodicprotectiontobeprovidedshallbeofsacrificialanodetype.

1.12 Lightingandrepairnetwork
1.12.1Lighting
Themainworkshophaspowernetworkfornormallightingandemergencylighting.The
normallightingnetworkadopts380/230V3phase4wires,whosemiddlepointdirectly
connectedtotheground,thelampadopts230V,andtheemergencylightingissupplied
by the distribution board of security section. The emergency lights shall be installed at
theplacefarawayfromthecentralcontrolroom.
A distribution box for normal lighting will be installed at the first floor of main
workshop, at operating floor near the boiler and turbine, in addition, the distribution
boxfornormallightingwillbeinstalledatproperpositioninotherauxiliaryworkshops.
Thefluorescentlampstripisadoptedfornormallightinginthecentralcontrolroom.
1.12.2Repairnetwork
Therepairboxesarearrangedonthefirstfloor,operatingfloorandotherfloorsinmain
workshop, the switch for welding machine is installed in other auxiliary production
workshopsasrepairpowersupply.
1.13 Cablefacilities
Thecablesinthecentralcontrolroomarearrangedalongthecableinterlayerandinthe
cabletrench.Cable
6kV power cable adopts YJV226/6Kv coppercore cross linked PE insulated cable and
PVCsheathedshieldedcable.
0.4kV power cable adopts VV220.6/1kV coppercore PE insulated cable and PVC
sheathedshieldedcable.
The control cable adopts KVVP220.45/0.75kV coppercore PE insulated cable and PVC
sheathedshieldedcable.
The firefighting measures shall be taken after the cables are arranged according to
relevantfireregulationsforpowersystem.
1.14 Communicationsystem

Theprojectisanewproject,sothecommunicationsystemhasnotbeenestablished.

1.14.3Telephonestation
Suitable digital programcontrolled dispatch switchboard, with a capacity of 10
telephones, will be installed in the central control room. The switchboard has
dispatching and automatic exchanging functions to coordinate with all kinds of carrier
wave, microwave and super high frequency in power system. The switchboard is a
module structure, which can achieve hot backup based on the users request. The
power for switchboard has switching function for AC/DC, 48V DC spare power will
automaticallystartif230VACfails.
The power plant shall have administrative and dispatching telephones for major post
and offices for easy communication between all departments, and also for the leaders
tomastertheworkingprogressanddirectproductionatanytime.
1.14.4Earthingmode
Thetelephonestationhasworkingearthingandprotectiveearthingandconnectedwith
thegeneralelectricalearthingnetwork.
1.14.5Wiringdistribution
HPVcommunicationcablesarearrangedthroughwireductalongthewallsinthemain
workshopandthroughthewireductintheofficeinahiddenway.
PVV22communicationcablesaredirectlyburiedinthepowerplant.
1.14.6Publicbroadcastingsystem
A public broadcasting system will be installed in the power plant. The public
broadcasting system is installed on each floor in each working area, including room,
building, control room, boiler area, coalhandling and transfer area, diesel generator
house, water treatment station and other rooms with operation and maintenance
requirements.

1.15 Firealarmsystem
A firealarm system will be installed in the project and its design will follow as per
contract.
Thefiredetectingdevicesareinstalledinthecableinterlayer,controlroom,htposition
in the cable tunnel where cables connects, cable shaft and at the indoor power
distributionequipments.
