Pattern Name Definition
1. Actor The role played by a user or any other system that
interacts with the subject is known as an actor.
2. Party A well-defined organization which performs certain
roles is known as a party.
3. Criteria The set of conditions which have to be fulfilled inn
order to achieve a goal or proceed ahead is known as
criteria
4. Constraint The set of conditions which limits or inhibits anything
or anybody, which varies from situations is known as
constraint
5. Rule The governing of a single person or a set of people is
known as Rule.
6. Mechanism The natural or established process by which something
takes place or is brought about is known as a
mechanism.
7. Outcome The final result of any mechanism or process is an
outcome.
8. Consequence The result of some action(s) is known as a
consequence.
9. Impact The resultant consequence (short term as well as long
term) of any process is known as an impact.
10. Reason Any justification to a situation is known as a reason.
11. Cause Any factor leading to a situation is known as a cause.
12. Type Any plural form of a generalized object is known as a
type.
13. Entity Any living or non-living thing which performs a


certain well defined set of tasks is known as an entity
14. Event Any purposeful circumstance which is well defined
and planned beforehand is known as an event.
15. Media The interface/ way with which we can communicate
from one place to another.
16. Log The record which has all the details of previous
recordings (May it be calls, entries, etc.) is known as a
log.
