A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR A FRIEND OF CHINCHA ALTA, PERU!: we received a letter from Sr. Pauline Coulter-
man of the Sisters of St. Joseph who spent many years working with the people of Chincha Alta, Peru. In the
letter Sister invites you “to share your Christmas with a needy family of Chincha Alta, Peru. Many Peruvians
are still struggling to put a roof over their head and keep their family together following the 2007 Earthquake.”
Sister will be travelling to Chinch Alta in February and hopes to be able to bring some “Christmas Gifts from Ca-
nadian Friends.” She notes that $25 is a very appropriate “Christmas Gift” and lists what this and other
amounts will purchase. Sister’s letter with attached donation form may be found on the tables at the church
entrances.

CHRISTMAS SCHEDULES : with times for Christmas and New Year liturgies for our
local parishes may be found at the church entrances and on the parish website.

Christmas and New Years Liturgical Roles as Assigned

HALL FEES: The Finance and Property Committee has been reviewing the challenge of mainte-
nance of our Parish Hall. Our costs for a “stand alone” building increase our heating, lighting and
taxes. There has not been a rental increase in many years and in reviewing our use and provision
of services connected with rentals it was decided that an increase in rates is appropriate at this
time. As well, providing the hall free of charge for funeral luncheons can no longer continue.
Consequently, beginning January 1st, 2010, the daily rental for the large hall will be $125 per us-
age for a half day and $250 for a full day.
The small hall will continue to be half of the cost of the large hall.
Long term rentals of the hall are negotiable in an effort to attract more rental income. Fees can be
waived if deemed to be a financial burden in a particular circumstance.
