W
ith a fast network, na-
tionwide coverage and
outstanding customer
support, AT&T has,
once again, been a hit with customers.
This year, the mobile phone car-
rier was selected by readers of the
Arkansas Democrat-Gazette as Best
Mobile Phone Services in the newspa-
pers Best of Central Arkansas readers
poll.
Arkansas residents depend on our
fast and reliable Internet connections
more and more every day, whether its
instant access to files and apps at work,
watching a video at home or even re-
ceiving updates from connected cars or
home monitors, said Jan Collier, AT&T
vice president and general manager for
AT&T Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Across the country, AT&T is investing
billions to build the advanced networks
that will create jobs and fuel econom-
ic growth, she said. Over the past four
years, AT&T has invested nearly $800
million in Arkansas wireless and wire-
line networks, driving a wide range of
upgrades to enhance speed, reliability,
coverage and performance for residents
and business customers. Also, more than
$180 million in local and state taxes were
generated by AT&T operations in Arkan-
sas in 2012.
Advancing Project Velocity IP, a
three-year investment plan to expand
and enhance AT&Ts wireless network
and wired IP broadband networks,
AT&T in 2013 made 541 network up-
grades in Arkansas, including new cell
sites, addition of wireless and wired net-
work capacity, and new broadband net-
work connections. Additionally, AT&T
expanded the reach of its network,
providing access to U-verse Internet
and video services to nearly 20,000 new
customer locations and delivering pow-
erful fiber-optic connections to 1,432
business locations at 50 multi-tenant
business buildings and business parks
in Arkansas.
AT&T is making robust investments
locally to make sure that residents can
take full advantage of the latest services
and tools, and that Arkansas businesses
have the connectivity speeds to com-
pete globally, and that our schools have
the broadband speed needed to provide
a world-class curriculum to their stu-
dents, Collier said.
While connecting its customers to each
other is a top priority for AT&T, the com-
pany also wants to connect its customers
to its employees. At its retail locations,
AT&T hires the best and brightest to pro-
vide an outstanding customer experience
while in-store. The companys retail ex-
perience is based on the AT&T Promise
from each of its employees they are
expected to learn and maintain a com-
bination of technical and interpersonal
skills. To date this year, AT&T retail-store
representatives have logged close to 2
million hours of training to ensure that
they are unrivaled experts on lifestyle
solutions and product knowledge, Col-
lier said.
We believe our employees are tru-
ly among the best in the business, and
were committed to consistently deliver-
ing a great customer experience through
fast and friendly service, she said.
The company employs 2,300 Arkan-
sans and operates 24 company-owned
retail locations in the state.
