Limited Warranty
Hand Held Products, Inc. ("Hand Held Products") warrants its products to be free
from defects in materials and workmanship and to conform to Hand Held
Products published specifications applicable to the products purchased at the
time of shipment. This warranty does not cover any Hand Held Products product
which is (i) improperly installed or used; (ii) damaged by accident or negligence,
including failure to follow the proper maintenance, service, and cleaning
schedule; or (iii) damaged as a result of (A) modification or alteration by the
purchaser or other party, (B) excessive voltage or current supplied to or drawn
from the interface connections, (C) static electricity or electro-static discharge,
(D) operation under conditions beyond the specified operating parameters, or (E)
repair or service of the product by anyone other than Hand Held Products or its
authorized representatives.
This warranty shall extend from the time of shipment for the duration published
by Hand Held Products for the product at the time of purchase ("Warranty
Period"). Any defective product must be returned (at purchasers expense)
during the Warranty Period to Hand Held Products factory or authorized service
center for inspection. No product will be accepted by Hand Held Products
without a Return Materials Authorization, which may be obtained by contacting
Hand Held Products. In the event that the product is returned to Hand Held
Products or its authorized service center within the Warranty Period and Hand
Held Products determines to its satisfaction that the product is defective due to
defects in materials or workmanship, Hand Held Products, at its sole option, will
either repair or replace the product without charge, except for return shipping to
Hand Held Products.
EXCEPT AS MAY BE OTHERWISE PROVIDED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE
FOREGOING WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER COVENANTS OR
WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, ORAL OR WRITTEN,
INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
HAND HELD PRODUCTS RESPONSIBILITY AND PURCHASERS
EXCLUSIVE REMEDY UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO THE
REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. IN NO EVENT
SHALL HAND HELD PRODUCTS BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL,
OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, AND, IN NO EVENT, SHALL ANY

PRODUCTS FOR THE PRODUCT. THESE LIMITATIONS ON LIABILITY

PRODUCTS MAY HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH
INJURIES, LOSSES, OR DAMAGES. SOME STATES, PROVINCES, OR
COUNTRIES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATIONS OF
INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE
LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
All provisions of this Limited Warranty are separate and severable, which means
that if any provision is held invalid and unenforceable, such determination shall
not affect the validity of enforceability of the other provisions hereof. Use of any
peripherals not manufactured/sold by Hand Held Products voids the warranty.
This includes but is not limited to: cables, power supplies, cradles, and docking
stations. Hand Held Products, Inc. extends these warranties only to the first end-
users of the products. These warranties are nontransferable.
The limited duration of the warranty for the IT3800 is for five (5) years.

Introduction - English
Connecting the Scanner - Keyboard Wedge
1. Turn off power before
connecting the scanner.
2. Remove the keyboard
connector from the PC.
3. Connect the cable's
modular connector to
the scanner.
4. Connect the male
connector to the
keyboard port in the PC
and the female connector to the keyboard cable. You may need to use the
Din/Mini Din adapter (included) to match your keyboard connectors.
Connecting the Scanner - Serial (RS-232)
1. Turn off power before
connecting the scanner.
2. Remove the keyboard
connector from the PC.
3. Connect the cable's
modular connector to the
scanner.
4. Connect the DB9
connector to the serial
port of the PC.
5. Connect the power stealer cable to the keyboard port in the PC. (This cable
powers only the IT3800LTP.)
6. Connect the keyboard cable to the back of the power stealer cable
connected in step 5.

Connecting the Scanner - USB
1. Turn off power before
connecting the scan-

connector to the PC.
4. Once the scanner is fully connected, power up the computer.

Country
Scan the appropriate bar code below for the country in which your scanner is
used.
Suffix
If you want a carriage return after the bar code, scan the Add CR Suffix bar
code. If you want a carriage return and line feed after the bar code, scan the
Add CR, LF Suffix bar code. To add a tab after the bar code, scan the Add Tab
Suffix bar code. Otherwise, scan the Remove Suffix bar code to remove the
suffixes.
Add Code ID Prefix to all Symbologies
Scan the following bar code if you wish to add a Code ID prefix to all symbologies
at once.

Trigger
The following bar codes will allow you to use the reader in Manual Trigger mode
(need to press the trigger to read), Automatic Trigger mode (the beam is always
on), or Presentation mode (the reader is activated when it sees a bar code).
Reread Delay
This sets the time period before the scanner can read the same bar code a
second time. Setting a reread delay protects against accidental rereads of the
same bar code.
Factory Defaults
The following bar code resets all factory defaults.
Visual Menu
To obtain access to additional IT3800LTP features, use Visual Menu, available
from our website (www.handheld.com). Visual Menu download instructions and
explanations of the additional features are available in the IT3800/3900 Users
Guide (38/3900/DO/UG), which is also available from our website or from your
account representative.

Conexin del Escner via Teclado
1. Apague la computadora

del PC.
3. Enchufe el conector
rectangular del cable al

4. Enchufe el conector
macho a la puerta del
teclado en el PC y el conector hembra al cable del teclado. Puede necesitar
el adaptador

Lea el cdigo de barras correspondiente al pas que utiliza su computadora.
Suffix
Si Ud. requiere que un retorno de carro <CR> sea enviado despus del cdigo
de barras ledo, lea el cdigo de barras Add CR Suffix. Si requiere un retorno
de carro <CR> y un line feed <LF> sea enviado despus del cdigo de barras,
lea el cdigo de barras Add CR, LF suffix. Para agregar un tabulador (tab)
despus del cdigo de barras, lea el cdigo de barras Add Tab Suffix. Si desea
eliminar los sufijos, lea el cdigo de barras Remove suffix.

Forma de Lectura (gatillo)
Los cdigos de barras mostrados abajo, programan la forma de lectura del
IT3800LTP. El Cdigo Manual Trigger le indica al lector que el gatillo debe ser
presionado para efectuar una lectura. El cdigo Automatic Trigger deja el haz
de lectura siempre encendido. El cdigo Presentation Mode deja el lector
activo pero sin prender el haz de lectura hasta que vea un cdigo de barras.
Retardo en Relectura
Esto configura el periodo de tiempo en que el escner puede leer el mismo
cdigo de barras una segunda vez. Esta configuracin protege contra relecturas
accidentales del mismo cdigo de barras.
Opciones de Fabrica
El cdigo de barras Factory Default vuelve el lector a la configuracin de
fbrica.

Suffix
Se deseja adicionar um carriage return depois do cdigo de barras, leia o cdigo
de barras Add CR suffix. Se deseja um carriage return e line feed depois do
cdigo de barras, leia o cdigo de barras Add CR, LF suffix. Para adicionar
TAB aps o cdigo de barras, leia o cdigo Add Tab Suffix. Caso contrrio, leia
cdigo de barras Remove Suffix para remover os sufixos.

Forma de Leitura (gatilho)
Os cdigos de barras mostrados abaixo programam a forma em que o leitor far
a leitura. O Cdigo Manual Trigger indica ao leitor que o gatilho deve ser
pressionado para ler. O cdigo Automatic Trigger deixa o feixe de luz sempre
acesso. O cdigo Presentation Mode deixa o leitor ativo mas sem acender o
feixe de luz ate que enxerga um cdigo de barras.
Atraso de Leitura
Faz com que o leitor atrase a leitura antes de que leia um segundo cdigo de
barras. Esta configurao de atraso pretege contra a leitura acidental de um
mesmo cdigo de barras.
Opes de Fabrica
O cdigo de barras Factory Defaults volta o leitor configurao de fabrica.
