Raise awareness on STI and HIV among
high school students in the Philippines.
For young people to learn, be informed
and be motivated to act or make the
smart decision to choose life-saving
actions,i.e. to prevent STI and HIV from
happening to them or their peers.

Innovative, interactive approach developed by
DepEd and UNICEF to help young people learn
about risky behaviors, STI, HIV and AIDS.

Campaign
Results of the Evaluation of
the STTK
A research based monitoring and evaluation on
project implementation in six (6) pilot divisions
was conducted last March 2009.
Major Findings:
Both the elementary and secondary modules were rated
Very Good for life-skills development. The suggested
activities ,assessment tools and source materials using
the integrated approach in teaching were found to be
acceptable,appropriate and useful.
Results of the M&E of the STTK
The modules were found to be aligned with the core
areas, messages and key concepts and entry point to
BEC.
The overall positive rating on the modules was taken
as a good predictor for its continued and sustained
use in Pilot schools hence maybe expanded to at least
all schools in the pilot provinces.

The absence of a sex education as a separate
subject in the Basic Education Curriculum
in the secondary level.
The alarming incidence of teen pregnancy,
early marriages, sexually transmitted
infections and other risky sexual and social
behaviors among adolescents (as revealed by
UPPI YAFS 4findings)
