MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremi ah 34- 36; He bre ws 6
Monday, November 3
Rom. 11: 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of
Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
Saving God and Precious Lord:
Moses sang at the Red Sea because he knew everyone in Israel was now
safe. Not a drop of spray fell from the walls of water till the last of Gods people
passed over. Is this true of my people? Are all in my household safe? Are all at
my work safe? Is everyone in my neighborhood safe? Part of Moses song goes,
Exod. 15: 13 Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed:
thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.
Is __________ safe by being guided? There will come a day when the
redeemed sing the song of Moses and the Lamb. It will be the boast of Jesus, that
John 18: 9 Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.
Make it so today for ________. They are not safely aboard the ark yet, and
as long as you leave me here it simply means there is someone else to win!
Help me not lose even one to whom I can explain the gospel! Help me not
lose one person who steps forward during an invitation. Help me not lose any
individual that comes to Sunday services or church activities unsaved (like Angel
Tree families). I covet their soul for the other side! Choose them; call them by
your Spirit; redeem them; save them for the sake of your Son who died for them!
Jude 1: 23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire;
The advance-guard of the army of saints has already reached heavens
shore. I am right now marching through the depths Lord, following after Jesus
into the heart of the sea. Bring the rear-guard up to where the vanguard already
is. Help me save some more! Use me to pull them out of the world and draw
them to the other side. Let Jesus see that his travail was worth it. Amen.
TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS CROSS
Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremi ah 37- 39; He bre ws 7
Tuesday, November 4
Mat t . 27: 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli,
Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
My Lord Jesus:
The word why is at the edge of the text. Your cry came out of bitter
darkness, so I should not expect to see through its every word. There is light in it,
but it has a center like a black hole of impenetrable gloom. In the annals of time
there is not one sentence more full of anguish. It is good for me to realize that,
like a black hole, it was measureless, unfathomable, inconceivable, infinite.
The anguish you bore on my behalf is no more to be measured and
weighed than the sin that required it or the love that endured it. Where I cannot
comprehend, I will adore. The height of your love can be measured only by the
depth of your griefand that can never be known.
The desertion was real. When my faith fails me, I then imagine God has
forsaken me. But your faith Lord, did not falter, for you twice said, My God. What
a double grip! My Saviors faith still triumphed even through this trial, with no
sign of faintness toward the living God.
Yet strong as was your faith, you realized your Father had withdrawn his
fellowship. I see you shiver at being deprived of it. Your one moan was not,
Why has Peter denied me? or Why has Judas betrayed me? Those were sharp
griefs, but the forsaking by your Father was the sharpest.
While the sword is sharp, your love is sweet. The testimony of the saints
has always been that while you allow us to suffer in body, you divinely sustain our
spirits. Throughout church history the fire has not been a bed of roses, yet it has
been a chariot of victory. The way out is the way through. Because of your cross I
can treat my trials as light afflictions. I thank you Jesus, my Lord. Amen.
WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremi ah 40- 42; He bre ws 8
Wednesday, November 5
Gal . 2: 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth
in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved
me, and gave himself for me.
Lord and Master:
Imprison me in the grave of Christ today, and manifest yourself to me
from that cellin a way you do not show yourself to the world.
S of S. 4: 12 A garden enclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain
sealed.
That is what you are to meexclusive and uniquely lovelyand thats what
I want to be to you. Make me a garden guarded for my Beloved where he can
take his delights. Fence-in my focus around you. Oh, that I could live above the
cares of this day! You have said it can be done this way:
1 Pet . 5: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Today Lord, reproach me and comfort me as you deem necessary. Bring
me to the cross of Christ according to your will. My only desire is you sanctify me
for the sky. Revive me now, because the rapture could take place at any time.
Prepare me down here for the place you are preparing for me up there.
Be mindful of the pastors in our church and the missionaries we support. If
any of them or their families are under depression of spirit, strengthen them. Be
very gracious to us under temptation. Sometimes I am faced with a sharp trial,
but then remember I brought it on myself. That makes it twice as hard, yet in
your mercy let the full power of your grace be manifested to me. Then, in the
ages to come I can, in union with all the saints I am separated from right now,
declare the exceeding greatness of your power and the exceeding riches of your
grace. Make it so by your Spirit for Jesus sake. Amen.
A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING
Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremi ah 43- 45; He bre ws 9
Thursday, November 6
Ps al m 71: 1, 14 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to
confusion. But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more
HISTORY marches on
There is a bottom line drawn across the ages
Culture can make its plan, oh, but the line never changes
No matter how the deception may fly
There is one thing that has always been true
It will be true forever

God is in control
We believe that His children will not be forsaken
God is in control
We will choose to remember and never be shaken
There is no power above or beside Him, we know
God is in control; Oh, God is in control

He has never let you down, why start to worry now?
Why start to worry now? He is still the Lord of all we see
And he is still the loving Father watching over you and me

FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY
Chronological Bible Reading: Jere mi ah 46- 48; He bre ws 10
Friday, November 7
1 Sam. 12: 23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD
in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:
God of Wonders:
Help us by your Spirit to come to you correct. Teach us to speak like
children to the Father, and yet as creatures before their Maker. Do not let us ask
amiss as we ask things related to our church and to your mission.
It may be that some creature comfort is closer to us than Christ. It may
be that some aspect of materialism has watered-down our ministry for you. It
may be that some relationship has stood in the way of our intimacy with God.
Help us find our joys only in you!
In these perilous times give us grace. We may not be where we should be
were we wiser, yet nevertheless teach us to act right. We bless you for the many
times you did not answer our prayers as we asked. Whenever we do ask amiss, in
your great wisdom and love, please refuse us. Help us be resigned to your will. If
we do press the matter, and it is a wrong request, do not regard it. If you see we
are in error, do not hear us. It is our hearts desire in our sanest moments that
this prayer might stand on record as long as we live:
Mark 14: 36 Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup
from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.
In looking back, we remember all the times you heard our cry, and we
thank you. We were in distress, our heart sank, and then we cried and you heard
us. The prayers of our lusts you rejected, but the prayers of our needs you
granted. Not one good thing has failed of your promise, and this is what we trust
in, as we move forward to the future in your eternal purpose. Give us all we need
to accomplish ministry in that mission, for Jesus sake. Amen.
SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS
Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremi ah 49- 52; He bre ws 11
Saturday, November 8
Ps a. 96: 1 O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.
O Lord to Whom I Sing:
You invite, you incite, and you persuade me to worship you with cries from
my heart. I can sing about you because of what I know about you from creation
and from your providence, but the revelation of salvation outshines them both. If
I meditate on salvation then I can proclaim the good news as I sing. That song is
always new, for the message is always new to the person who hears it and
understands it. The gospel is always appropriate, always sure, always perfectso
help me always to sing it and say it.
Each day brings a deeper experience of trusting in you. Each day shows me
anew how much I need you. Each day reveals your power to save. Each day the
Holy Spirit works in my heart. Therefore, without ceasing, let me sing your
praise, and not just at Thanksgiving in November.
Ps a. 96: 7 Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD
glory and strength.
Let us sing and share your praise until the echo flies around the earth. And
after we have sung to you Lord, let us give unto the Lord. Who can completely fulfill
that obligation? All conceivable honor is due to you, and we cannot give you
more than you are owed.
Help me Father, to render my worshipnot in a careless, callous, and
superficial fashion, but fervently, earnestly, and from the heart. I lift up my soul
to you today. Give me grace to restore you to your rightful place in my life. Help
me get others to sing the song and give you the glory. The whole universe will
someday be clothed with smiles; let me show my gladness now by my faith that
your reign is soon approaching. Help me exalt you for Jesus sake. Amen.

HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH

HOW TO BUILD A BALANCED LIFE

1) TIMEWORSHIP
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.

2) TITHEWORK
1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as
God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.

3) TEAMWORD
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS
! Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)
! Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
! Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

PRAYER DIARY

" INTERCEDE WITH GOD " INSTRUCT SAINTS
" PROMPT PETITIONS " KICKSTART DEVOTION

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
