made the decision to further your dance career, and we are grateful that you have given us this opportunity to help you meet your dance goals. We offer several programs designed to meet every dancers need. Let's find the right program for you! Adagio Dance the PI ECE that brings it ALL together With over 20 years of dance experience, Christina Broadnax is known for her incredible gift to work with both children and adults, challenging them and producing the best dancer that they can be. She began a small dance ministry (consisting of 4 young girls) at the age of 14. Soon after, the ministry grew into a company that performed all over the east coast, which then grew into a performing arts troupe that included both music and theater, which grew into a performing arts studio. This performing arts studio (T.A.D.M.A.C. better known as The Anointed Dance Ministry And Company) became home for hundreds of children, adults, and teenagers where Christina was able to help produce awesome dancers who now dance professionally. Dance Theater of Harlem, The Debbie Allen Studio, Philadanco, Eleon, The Ailey School, and Dallas Black Dance Theater are just a few companies and schools that students of Christina Broadnax have trained and danced with professionally.
Christina Broadnax has helped start, train and choreographed for several dance ministries across the east coast. She has also worked at the Arts & Technology Academy and Wise High School teaching dance and choreography.
Christina Broadnax also co partners with Zelda Sims as the director of the Adagio Dance Competition team. She is also partners with LJS Events, and together they host major dance workshops given by famous dancers and choreographers. Children need special attention and a special atmosphere to tap into their creativity. Adagio Dance is partnering with "Children Of The Future" Day Care Center to provide just that! Offering Ballet, Tap, and Creative Movement, this program will engage young dancers by teaching them the fundamental techniques and terminology, allowing time for creating their own steps, and giving them the structure and discipline of a formal dance school. Understanding that young dancers may have limited attention spans, our program has free time in between classes to ensure dancers can regroup and refocus for each concentration. Located in the loving home of "Children Of The Future", the Adagio Minis dance program is equipped to enhance and nurture the talents of young dancers. The Adagio Youth program is geared towards the intermediate dancer. This program is designed for dancers who are interested in gaining more technique and/or for the dancer who loves to dance for recreational purposes, but doesn't necessarily want the vigorous training of a pre professional dancer. Offering multiple styles of dance, this program is structured to help each dancer achieve a better understanding of technique terminology and to perfect the articulation of movement through their body. We recommend enrolling in the full program, however you may select your choice of individual classes as well. "Adagio Ladies" is specifically for adult dancers! Do you desire more technical training? Check out our Ballet class! This class caters to helping to increase the fundamental ballet skills needed in the various form of dance. It will also strengthen your terminology. Looking for a great workout? Our Stretch Alignment & Conditioning class is excellent for a great cardio workout, while toning your abs, and increasing your flexibility. Or maybe you just want to join a recreational activity. "Adagio Ladies" has a place for you! "Blue Leotards" are our pre professional dancers. This program is designed for dancers who desire a more serious commitment in dance. You can not audition into this program. All dancers are hand selected by the directors of Adagio Dance Studios. We invite dancers, ages 5 18, to receive personalized instruction in dance technique and vocabulary. We identify each dancers strengths and weaknesses in the various concentrations of dance and focus on strengthening the weak areas and perfecting their strengths. We help prepare dancers for local performances, dance competitions, college dance programs, and essentially careers in dance. We help increase each dancers artistry by allowing them to help in the creative process of selecting costumes, music, make-up, hairstyles for performances. A large portion of this program revolves around coaching life skills such as academic achievement, independence, poise, resourcefulness, goal setting, team work, self-esteem, self- worth, and individual excellence. We train every dancer in Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Point. Each Blue Leotard will receive a 60 minute private session with Ms. Christina weekly. Under the direction of Ms. Zelda Simms we are pleased to present the much anticipated Adagio Dance Competition Company! Our competition company is comprised of skilled dancers who are interested in using the competitive dance world to advance their dance education, skill, musicality, and exposure. This company is designed specifically for the serious dancer. Adagio Dance Competition Company strives for excellence on and off the stage.
