The 2014 New Jersey
General ElectionVoter Guide
Its here to help you. This 2014 New Jersey General Election Voter Guide is here to help you make an
informed decision when you vote on Tuesday, November 4th. The guide is non-partisan, and is not
intended to endorse or oppose any candidate, either explicitly or implicitly. It simply provides
pertinent information about the candidates themselves, and their positions on issues of importance. In some
cases, candidates refused to answer our questionnaire, or did not respond despite our several attempts to
contact them.
Whats inside. This guide contains information on candidates seeking positions in the U.S. Senate and
House of Representatives. For each one, you'll find a photo and a listing of their positions on each question
from our questionnaire. If you are unable to determine the district in which you live, we have provided a
phone listing of Board of Election offices in each county, where you can call to determine your district, and
even, if necessary, your voting location. County Board of Elections:
Using the guide. It is perfectly legal to bring this guide with you in the voting booth, although we
recommend that you fully review the guide first to determine your selection beforehand. Please also
consider passing the Voter Guide to others in your family and community to increase its usefulness.

TOMMACARTHUR
37. Candidate comment: The ACA has further damaged an already broken healthcare system and is hurting our economy; it should be re-
pealed and replaced. We need to lower costs by enacting tort reform and instituting market-based ideas, such as allowing businesses to pool
together in order to buy insurance and permitting insurance to be sold across state lines. We also must protect patient choice and improve ac-
cess to care for those that cannot find coverage anywhere else.
38. Candidate comment: Individuals and businesses should not be forced to violate their own moral or religious beliefs. At the same time, indi-
viduals and businesses have an obligation to abide by existing anti-discrimination laws and treat all persons equally and with respect.
39. Candidate comment: The decision to increase the minimum wage should be left up to each individual state, allowing them to act in the
best interests of their own citizens, as opposed to a one-size fits all approach being mandated by the federal government.
40. Candidate comment: My wife and I are pro-life and have lived out this conviction in our own life, carrying and then raising a special-needs
child, Grace, who lived for 11 years. Grace validated everything we believe about how precious and sacred life is. I believe there must be ex-
ceptions in cases of rape or incest, in addition to cases when its necessary to save the life of the mother.
41. Candidate comment: I favor measures such as this in failing school districts so all children and parents are provided an opportunity to re-
ceive a high quality education.
42. Candidate comment: I support tax reform that makes our federal code flatter, simpler and lower, and that incentivizes economic growth
and savings.
43. Candidate comment: This is an issue I need to examine more closely.

ANTHONY E. WILKINSON
76. Candidate comment: Upon repeal, this Act must be replaced with a better solution for addressing the health care crisis.
77. Candidate comment: The minimum wage should not be so low that full time pay still qualifies a single worker (no children) for welfare.
78. Candidate comment: There must be exceptions based upon religion.
79. Candidate comment: Fair Tax is undefined here. I am in favor of tax reform to create a flatter and fairer system with lower income tax
rates.
