.and Mary H. Chamberlain, and was-
bom in Warren .County, Ohio, June'
21,1839. She was united in mar
riage to Frank J, Sherwood August
23, 1860; and to thisdnion iW^re born
four children, one of whom with her
husband and three brothers, survives
her. In early life jhe identified her
self with the Methodist church, and
continued a faithful communicant of
the same, until calle 1 by death from
the church militant to the church at
rest.
The writer of this sketch has little
to guide her save a slight acquaint-^
ance, and what was written on the
face of the deceased, which is more
often than otherwise a sure index to

the face of Mrs. Sherwood it was ^

ing disposition, but yet poiiwesHed
with rare strength of purpose. Ex
ceedingly practical and even matter
of fact in the ordinary affairs of life,
