12th Annual Chicago
Turkish Festival
PR Recap
Executive Summary
Prior to the 12th Annual Chicago Turkish Festival, Alpaytac
team and the festival committee met to discuss the
potential media opportunities surrounding the festival.
With a strong emphasis on media outreach, Alpaytac team
has pitched both national and local media to secure
interest for the opening gala on Thursday, September 4
and for the festival on Friday, September 5 and Saturday,
September 6, following the gala. In addition to securing
media interest, Alpaytac has positioned Consul General,
Fatih Yildiz, as the spokesperson for the festival.
As a result of our teams pitching efforts, Alpaytac has
secured eight interviews for Fatih Bey, including outlets
such as, CBS Chicago, FOX Chicago, NBC Chicago,
Examiner.com, Chicago Sun-Times and Prestige Du
Monde.
In total, Alpaytac has secured 32 placements with

9,945,060 impressions and an ad value of $494,815 for
the 12th Annual Chicago Turkish Festival.
Our team is continuously following up with contacts to
secure pending placements.

Event Overview
Opening Gala September 4
1. Upon arrival, our team staffed the registration desk to meet
and greet media at the 12th Annual Chicago Turkish Festival
opening gala.
2. As media members from C-Style Magazine, Examiner.com,
Prestige Du Monde, Chicago Sun-Times, and Bunny and
Brandys Brunchtime Blog started arriving, Alpaytac team
handed them their wristbands and seated them, followed by
introducing Fatih Bey to them.
3. Following the 5-10 minute interviews, Alpaytac team showed
the media members around in the festival area, gave brief
information about the overall festival and the gala schedule.
4. After all interviews wrapped up, our team made sure media
received all the answers and information they needed.
Event Overview Contd

Broadcast Segments September 5
1. Alpaytac has secured four segments with CBS 2 and one instudio segment with FOX on Friday morning.
2. The CBS segments were scheduled between 4:30 7:00am.
Our team invited the pottery, calligraphy and water marbling
tents for the first segment at 4:30am to create the perfect
backdrop for the segments. In addition, the dance troupe and
the fashion show models arrived at 5:30am to showcase their
performances.
3. Naile Kovuk from the festival committee and Consul General
Fatih Bey both did an excellent job, serving as spokespeople
for the festival. Naile introduced the tents, described the dance
performances as well as the local fashion designers work, and
Fatih Bey discussed the festival tradition, how it contributes to
the Chicago community and gave additional information about
the festival.

Broadcast Segments Contd September 5
4. Following the four CBS segments, our team, Faith Bey, Naile
and the dance troupe proceeded to the FOX studios for the
8:45am segment.
5. While Good Day Chicago anchors interviewed Fatih Bey about
the festival, the dance troupe showcased one of their local
performances.

5. Just as Alpaytac team and the dance troupe was leaving FOX
studios, the dance troupes colorful dance outfits caught the
Mancow (a radio show aired on MY50 Channel) crews eye
and the dance troupe was invited to the studio.
6. Naile, once again, served as a spokesperson for the festival,

surrounded by other guests of the show, including Ringo Starr
of The Beatles, Jon Lovitz, Greg Wittstock from National
Geographic.
7. The dance troupe performed an excellent show for Mancow,
despite the limited space they had. Our team has assisted the
Mancow crew and the dance troupe to maximize exposure.

1. For Saturday, September 6, our team has secured NBC 5 for
an interview with Fatih Bey, supported by the dance troupe.
2. The dance troupe performed for several 10-second long
teasers until the 8:30am interview with Fatih Bey.
3. Our team worked closely with Consul General, tents, the
dance troupe and the sound check, and orchestrated the
whole segment, similar to the live shots on September 5.
4. At the end of the segment, the reporter took a picture with
Consul General and the dance troupe.
