Accomplishments
Network Administration
Network operation center technician providing round-the-clock support in a real-time environment with zero-
tolerance for error. Evaluated and escalated cell site outages to field engineers and management personnel
after preliminary diagnostic testing and effectively applied disaster recovery tools to minimize down-time during
major weather events.
• Successfully operated in capacity of service support desk troubleshooting outages, directing service calls
and facilitating special events including NASCAR, Super Bowl, Final Four and general disaster recovery.
• Effectively administered Cisco/Juniper routers, Cisco, Pix and Nokia firewall applications, and performed
Unix/Linux and Microsoft platform administration.
• Remotely supported up to 50 customers including monitoring and diagnosing outages, evaluating impact and
urgency, and instructing customer personnel on server network initialization procedures and start-up tasks.
• Accurately monitored over 4000 local and international servers utilizing Netcool, Openview, SSH, and Unix
command tools.
• Successfully configured employee Netscape, Pine, and Outlook email, established new user accounts
including permissions and user rights for NETCOOL accounts, and created accounts for network engineers
to have access to WorldCom backbone and gateway routers.
• Effectively interfaced with field engineers and customer personnel, monitored progress on service tickets,
and established workload priorities.
• Accurately analyzed and investigated utilization of IDEN, TDMA, CDMA, and GSM networks, monitored and
performed trial runs of potential customer systems with SS7 tools, provided customers with 3rd level support
on existing systems.
• Ensured sufficient usage of DS3 and T1 circuits, rationalized T1 usage, and utilized existing equipment to
run more than one cell site on a single T1 resulting in substantial savings to customers in time and
investment.
• Materially contributed to regularly scheduled round table discussions on technical and procedural topics and
consistently recommended modifications to procedures and applications to gain efficiencies, minimize
turnarounds, and provide savings to both service providers and customers.
• Accurately reported abnormal system operation and service solutions to management as well as the FCC on
a periodic basis.
• Selected to train, mentor, and evaluate new hires,
