YOU MUST KNOW YOUR CHILDS CLASS LETTER, IF YOU DONT PLEASE ASK YOUR TEACHER.
Dear Parents,
We are really excited to see your children perform in the Christmas Shows. Our Christmas Shows at
Taylorsville High School will be held Thurs. Dec. 18th and Fri. Dec. 19th. Taylorsville High School is located at 5225
South Redwood Road. Your child will be in one of the 2 shows. Shows will begin at 6:30 p.m. Please be there 20
minutes early in costumes with hair and make-up done, ready to perform. Doors will open on both sides of the
auditorium for seating at 6:10 p.m. If you are in the auditorium before this time we will ask you to exit. The ONLY
seats that are allowed to be taped off are for our CDS staff. We appreciate your co-operation with this rule.
1st Christmas Show Thurs. Dec. 18th Classes: B, C, D, H, I, K, L, M, S, U, W, X, Z4, Z2, Tinys Ballet, X-1 Ballet, Beg.
Cheer, Mini B-Boyz. Teams: Glitz Cheer, Tinys, X-1, X-3, Velocity, Xpress, Pee-Wees, All-Stars Jr. Xcess, Xcess
and Pro Co.
2nd Christmas Show Fri. Dec. 19th Classes: A, E, F, G, J, O, P, Q, R, T, V, Y, Z5, Z1, Z3, JT, Minis Ballet,
Teams: Sparkles Cheer, Minis, X-2, Xcellerate, Impact, Xpress, Xtremes, Jr. Xcess , Xcess and Pro. Co.
This is not the order of the real shows!
Overlapping Students: we have so many students in families that it is impossible to put all family members in
the same show. We have done the best we can and can not make any changes as to which show your child is in.
The chance to perform in front of an audience means so much to these dancers, remember it is only one night and
your positive attitude, as parents will make such an impact on the way this evening runs. Thank You!
Performance Fees and Costume Fees: Please write your class letter and students name on all
checks!! Remember these feess DO NOT come out in auto pay!! We only need envelopes for cash! Regular
Classes should have paid their $40.00 Performance Fee in October; if that has not been paid please get it in
A.S.A.P. (a $10.00 late fee must be added). $55.00 Costume Fees need to be paid by November 7th or late fees
will be added. Cheer Classes owe $70.00 for their uniform. $17.00 Tumbling Shorts orders are now due. If you
did not order them please do so, tumblers please be sure and pay your $15.00 Insurance Fee. All Teams need to
refer to your team note for fees or payment plans. NO costumes will be given unless they are paid for and your
account is current. Statements are being sent out; if your account is past due your dancer will

sit out!!!
ShowTime: Sometimes your childs teacher may want their hair and or make-up done a certain way; if they do
they will send home individual class notes. If no specifics are mentioned, then this is our basic rule of thumb,
please wear at least blush and lipstick for the Christmas shows this helps your child show up more on stage. Hair
should be clean, curled and have the sides pulled up and secured out of their face. Accessories will be passed out
soon. If you have any questions about these your teacher will be able to help you. After your child performs their
class helper will gather up Accessories and take the children to get a treat! Please remember that accessories
belong to the dancing school. DO NOT take them home with you the night of the show. We need all of our
accessories and ask that you be honest in returning them back to the studio. WE NEED ALL PERFORMERS
TO STAY THROUGHOUT THE ENITRE SHOW!!! It is not fair to the dancers if the audience dwindles as the
show progresses. Each child deserves an audience.
Dress Rehearsals: will be held in your childs class on the following days: Thurs. Dec. 11 th, Fri. Dec. 12th Mon.
Dec. 15th, Tues. Dec. 16th and Wed.Dec. 17th. NO DRESS REHEARSALS at Taylorsville High School. Please have
your child wear their Christmas costume and accessories to class the day of their dress rehearsal. Please have the
appropriate tights & shoes, wear hair the way you have been told by your teachers at class or in this newsletter.
Parents will be allowed to watch in class the last 5-10 minutes.
Sweatshirts: are for Combo Classes Onlythese will also be passed out soon. We did order a few extra so if your
child didnt order one and you need one please call Denise Haslam at 631-5789. And we will see if we still have one
to sell.
Days off for the rest of 2014! Thanksgiving break Nov. 26th and 27th Christmas Break: Dec. 20th-Jan. 1st Classes resume Jan. 2nd

Christmas Costume Information:

Combo Classes:
Red Sweatshirts and white tights will be worn by all combo classes. They will also have a
Christmas Accessory that will be given out at class and must be returned to the studio.
Black Tap Shoes are needed for Classes: C, D, H, I, L, A, G, J
Pink Ballet Shoes are needed for Classes: B, K, M, E, O
All combo students should wear their hair curly with the sides pulled up in a ponytail
unless you were told otherwise by your teacher. They also need to wear makeup, especially
lipstick and blush so that they will really show-up on the stage.
**Please be sure and have your child wear a leotard under their sweatshirt! The
Leo can be black, white or light pink. When they lift up their arms we do not want
to have underwear showing!
Tumbling Classes:
Please wear your Tumble shorts with a white Leo or tight fitting tank top, Carmel Capezio
transitional or stirrup tights. (Boys may wear basketball shorts in any color and a white Tshirt). You may purchase these at Onstage Dancewear: 4168 Carriage Sq
West Valley, UT 84119 Tell them you dance at Colettes and receive a discount
We need girls to wear make-up so that you shine up on the stage, if you are in a dance class
along with tumbling please leave your hair the way it was for that dance, if not put it in a
ponytail.

Hip-Hop Classes, Break-dance, Class JT Tiny, Mini, & X1 Ballet and Cheer
Classes: (Remember Costume payments were due by Nov. 7th!)
You will be wearing your Spring Costume for the Christmas shows if you have any questions
about your costume please ask your teacher. Your teacher will be letting you know in class
how your hair and make-up should be worn.
Class JT: you will be Tan wearing half soles. If you do not know what these are feel free to talk to

Black Tennis Shoes are needed for Classes: F, P, Q, R and all Bboys
White Tennis Shoes are needed for Classes: Beg. Cheer
Comp. Cheer: your shoes are being ordered please refer to your note for cost.
Tiny, Mini, X-1 Ballet will be wearing any black Leo, White or lt. pink tights and light pink
ballet shoes. Please be sure you paid your $30 costume fee except X-1 is no cost!
